Bonobos Coolmax Seersucker Golf Pant
The Bonobos Coolmax Seersucker Pant is the must-own trouser for summer 2023.
Seersucker has historically been popular in hot and humid climates for its natural performance properties. The fabric is woven in such a way that some threads bunch together, giving it a wrinkled or puckered appearance. The unevenness of the material causes it to be held mostly away from the skin. This allows for greater air circulation and facilitates heat dissipation. Traditionally, seersucker is made of cotton. However, Bonobos Coolmax Seersucker is made with 70% polyester and 30% cotton. The result of adding polyester created a lighter fabric that keeps you cool and dry on the dog days of summer.
With three different fit options, I ended up ordering the “Slim Taper” in a 35×32 (typically I am 34×32). Since I was going with their slimmest fitting slack I decided that an extra inch in the waist might be wise. The fit was on point; trim, not tight in the seat with a moderate taper from the thigh down. On an unusually warm spring day, I took these pants out for a quick nine. They provided plenty of stretch while keeping me cool and dry.
Style tip: pair these trousers with a solid navy polo and belt (with white golf shoes only) for an elevated summer-ready look that will perform on the course. And by swapping out your footwear you can make this outfit transition anywhere: a pair of brown loafers to dress it up or white minimalist slip-on sneakers for a more casual look.
Bonobos Tour Golf Jogger
Except for maybe cargo pants, no trousers have epitomized utilitarian more than joggers. Not these joggers, though. The Bonobos Tour Golf Jogger has a tabbed-front closure to create an element of style and sophistication. These joggers are the perfect casual summer weight pants that allow your ankles to breathe. With a partially elasticized hem and waistband, they offer all the comfort and performance of a jogger but are styled for the course.
I was skeptical when ordering these joggers. The waist options were XS – XXL and the lengths were Short, Regular, and Long. When referencing their sizing guide, I was between a Medium and Large waist. I went with the Large waist and Regular length (I am 6’0, 195 lbs. 34×32) and anticipated that they’d probably be too baggy. Not at all (I would describe them as “athletic”). The elastic waistband and drawstring allowed me to dial in the waist. They are ideal for day-to-day wear or a day on the course.
