Fashion Dimes

Kurt Kitayama (Chervo & Boxto)

Since Kurt’s shoe-switcheroo (Nike to Boxto) he has become one of the best dressed men in golf.

Keith Mitchell (Sid Mashburn & FootJoy)

These Sid Mashburn plaid cuffed trousers with the five-button placket polo are the best thing I saw over the final two days of the tournament.

Michael Block (Nike Golf)

Thanks, Michael. That was really freaking fun. Oh, and I like your Jordan 3s! Dang.

Cameron Smith (Original Penguin & FootJoy)

Running back the FootJoy Pastel Pack that was released for the Masters was a good move by Cam Smith. They paired beautifully with the All-Over Pete Print Golf Polo in Rose Bouquet.

Brooks Koepka (Nike Golf)

The Air Zoom Infinity Tour Next% that Nike released for the PGA Championship was tough to pair with much, but the Plum Eclipse colorway of these pants and belt worked. The simple white polo and hat were the right call too.

Justin Thomas (Greyson Clothiers & FootJoy)

Not exactly the playing performance I was expecting from JT in defense of his title. Exactly the fashion performance I was expecting, however.

Viktor Hovland (J.Lindeberg & Puma Golf)

They give me this stuff and pay me money to do so, so I just show up and wear what they want me to wear.

Viktor Hovland

I have always thought that Hovland and J.Lindeberg were an odd pairing. Regardless of whether he would’ve worn this kit on his own, I am really digging it. Puma shoes go better with JL than his previous kicks. In fact, I can’t help but think that Puma Golf head-to-toe would be a better match for him.

Fashion Crimes

Lucas Herbert

Lions, and tigers, and bears, oh my! Lucas looks like he should be going to work at the zoo.

Scottie Scheffler

This Nike raingear was as atrocious as the weather on Saturday.

Phil Mickelson

Phil looked incredibly awkward in this hoodie (and his pants need a tailor).

White-belt-flagrant-foul! We aren’t necessarily anti-white belt here at GolfThreads (notice two of my Dimes are wearing white belts). It just needs to be utilized properly. This ain’t it.

  1. Thanks. Agreed on the Nike rain gear. That was bad. Always great to see you have Keith Mitchell because he didn’t get a TV appearance Saturday or Sunday.

    1. Thanks for reading and commenting, Michael. Keith is a “set it and forget it” inclusion for DIMES.

  2. I thought brooks looked as good as he played Sunday. Got to get me those trousers. JT top dog for me as usual. Thanks for the daily reports.

  3. Truth be told, to me Phil looks better here than that weird dress shirt deal he was on a few years back. Couldn’t agree more on Vic H and Puma….JL makes good stuff…but they just don’t style it right for Vic. Puma would def be an easier kit to build. Love these major write ups!!!!

  4. So glad to see Vic out of Roshe’s. Now if Ping could just make him a decent hat instead of the stock white and black.

    1. Couldn’t agree more, there was something about the big swoosh on Hovland’s Roshe’s that drove me crazy. Maybe it clashed with the JL bridge….I don’t know.

  5. I loved all these writeups. Excellent job Mike. Nike is trying so hard to be as ugly as possible I have to tune in to see it so it must be working.

    1. Thanks, Jim. I always appreciate your kind words and support. Hope all is well.
