Holiday Gifts for the Stylish Golfer

What do the guys from GolfThreads want for Christmas? Greg, Michael, and Ian made their lists and checked them twice. Below you’ll find more than a dozen presents for guys that are stylish and nice. Keep in mind; this isn’t your ordinary holiday gift guide. This is a curated collection of fashionable golf jackets, vests, polos, pants, shoes, and accessories that are actually on our holiday gift lists.

Greg’s List

Greyson Clothiers (Anything & Everything)

Greyson has this great feature on its website where you can create a wish list filled with your favorite pieces. After spending about 20 minutes creating my list, I realized I added nearly everything Greyson had to offer. Greyson is the hottest brand and golf apparel right now. Whether you like to keep your kits simple and classic or bold and daring, Greyson offers something for everyone–and the fits are on point. Layer up with the Tundra Hybrid Jackets, Sioux Vests, or the Totem Crewneck Sweater. The Montauk Trousers are some of the best in the game and available in a variety of colors and on-trend prints. You can’t go wrong with the Icon, Choctaw, or Camowolf Polos. Oh, and the hats are crazy cool, too. The list goes on and on.

G/FORE Longwing Gallivanter

When it comes to golf footwear, I prefer classic styles. I’m a sucker for a great-looking pair of brogues. At the same time, the comfort of today’s sneaker-style kicks is difficult to resist. Enter G/FORE’s Longwing Gallivanter. The old-school brogue detailing on this shoe hits all the right fashion notes, and best of all, it is wrapped in all the comfort features of a modern sneaker. Also, G/FORE’s shoes pair perfectly with Greyson’s threads–just ask Tour players like Sam Ryder and Kelly Kraft.

Jones Utility Rover Carry Bag

After curing some nagging knee and foot issues, I’m ready to give up the old man trolley and throw my bag on my back again. However, every carry bag these days is covered with billboard-sized OEM logos and obnoxious color combos. Jones’ Utility Rover, though, is stylish in its simplicity. Light grey and black with medium blue accents and minimalist logos. It combines the best features of Jones’ Players Series and Utility Series bags; two straps, no stand, seven pockets, and a durable, lightweight nylon material. To accessorize, check out the Seamus headcovers on Ian’s list below.

Seamus Golf Hand-Forged Big Wave Ball Mark

The Big Island of Hawaii is my favorite place to chill and Seamus’ hand-forged ball marks are my favorite ways to mark my golf balls on the green. Put the two together and I can feel the Aloha spirit anywhere I tee it up. If Hawaii isn’t your thing, then check out the Seamus’ hand-forged ball marks with NBA and NCAA team logos, the iconic Jack Nicklaus “Yes Sir!” pose, or other designs. For a special touch, add personalized stamping to the back of the mark.

Ping Knox Full-Zip Hoodie

I’ve been wearing a few of Ping’s 1/4-zip and full-zip Barrufa wool sweaters this year and they are nothing short of amazing. Barrufa is the highest grade of Merino wool. It’s light, warm, flexible, breathable, soft, and Italian (so it has to be good, right). Ping uses this same wool for a sophisticated take on the modern hoodie with the Knox. This is a sweater that looks as good off the course as on it.

Galvin Green Luke Interface-1 Jacket

Truth be told, I already own this jacket, but it is worth the mention and recommendation here. Galvin Green’s Luke has been my go-to this fall. It features the brand’s Interface-1 technology with cutting-edge fabrics that offer ultralight protection against just about anything Mother Nature can throw at you. It’s water repellent and quilted with Primaloft insulation on the chest and back. You can wear it as a top layer in warmer weather or layer it under a puffer jacket or vest for extra warmth in cold conditions. Sure, it is a bit of a holiday splurge, but you’ll never want to take it off.

Johnnie-O Marin Prep-Formance Pant

Versatility is key for my wardrobe, and the Johnnie-O Marin 5 Pocket Pant is the most adaptable on the market. I am all in on 5-pocket pants for the course, work and everywhere in between. The Marin pants are simply the best I have encountered in terms of style, fit, quality, and function (they possess the perfect amount of stretch). My goal is to have a pair in every color.

Rhone Street Jogger

While we are on the topic of trousers, these Rhone Street Joggers remind me of a sports car: sleek, stylish, and (tastefully) aggressive (with all the performance you would expect). Maybe a little out of my comfort zone but then again it is fun to include something on a “wish list” that you might not otherwise buy yourself. I had the opportunity to review Rhone this past summer and was blown away by their Commuter Pant. Essentially the same pant but in jogger form. We have seen joggers become more prevalent on the golf course lately and I want in on the action!

TravisMathew Cuater Pivot Stretch Belt

With two pairs of slacks on my wish list, I am going to need something to hold them up, right? Belts are my favorite accessory (and Cuater my favorite belts) because of their ability to make an ordinary outfit extraordinary. The Dark Burgundy/Dark Grey color combination on the Cuater Pivot Stretch is an incredibly hot color for the season and coincidentally will look pretty sweet with the next item on my list….

Original Penguin Color Block Full Zipped Golf Fleece

A golf fleece that reminds me of an old-school varsity letter sweater! Dope!! The fit of Original Penguin apparel is PERFECT for my build. And these colors just speak to me. Is that weird?

True Linkswear x Linksoul Knit Shoe

SO. FREAKING. COOL. One of my favorite collaborations of the year. I could wear these anywhere. The Linksoul x True Linkswear Knits are packed with unique and subtle details like a debossed Make Par / Not War stamp on the heel tab, Linksoul logo embroidery near the heel, Lab Green color pop eyelet, a collaborative Linksoul x True stamp on the tongue, and insoles featuring artwork by Geoff Cunningham. I want them. Size 11, please.

Custom FootJoy MyJoys

FootJoy offers eleven different custom models available in thousands of color and design options. Pick your favorite shoe from the classic Icon to the athletic-looking Pro/SL and let your imagination run wild on color combinations.

Seamus Golf Headcovers

Updating a golf bag on a regular basis can get pricey, however, giving your bag a refresh with a new headcover is the way to go this year and much more affordable. The Seamus headcovers come in a multitude of styles enabling you to express your love for football to your love of Hawaii. Available in driver, fairway, and hybrid sizes.

Peter Millar Pemberton Channel Cord Full Zip Hydrid

Every Christmas list needs a soft, comfortable layering piece. This year ask for the Peter Millar Pemberton available in a blue on blue colorway with a ribbed front. This full-zip jacket is a great addition to your winter golf wardrobe or for running errands around town.

Polo Ralph Lauren Down Vest

If you are like me, you want to be warm when you are playing golf. This year add this heathered vest to your closet and stay nice and toasty throughout the round. If you find this item wrapped under your tree on Christmas Day just utter the words of the honorable Ron Swanson, “Please and Thank You.”
