Original Penguin has more than 70 years of golf style in its archives. For Fall 2026, the brand is bringing some of its most interesting references back into the conversation.
The Summer/Fall 2026 collection draws from American and British sportswear, ’90s style and the Munsingwear archive, giving classic Original Penguin ideas a fresh setting. The fun is in seeing those different eras show up across the collection, from ’60s-inspired knitwear to ’90s sportswear and the familiar Penguin staples that have defined the brand for decades.
The standout story is the new Birdie Battalion Archive Collection. Launching for Fall 2026, the limited-edition capsule takes inspiration from Munsingwear sweaters from the 1960s. The Landscape Intarsia Sweaters feature a 50/50 merino wool and acrylic blend sourced directly from the Munsingwear archives, giving the pieces a genuine connection to the brand’s past.
The collection also brings performance into the sweater category through a Cocona Wool and nylon blend. The fabric incorporates volcanic minerals and coconut-derived activated carbon to help regulate temperature and manage moisture. It is an interesting update to a classic golf category, especially as knitwear continues to become a bigger part of the modern golf wardrobe.
The men’s collection moves into the ’90s with the 90’s Reversible Plaid Vest, which pairs a familiar plaid pattern with PrimaLoft insulation. The Terry Track Jacket takes another classic sportswear staple and gives it a softer hand, stretch and tonal Original Penguin embroidery. The Luxe Performance Earl Polo brings a more refined option to the lineup. Its polyester, Lyocell and elastane construction gives the traditional golf polo a soft, comfortable feel while keeping the look clean and versatile.
The Polar Pete Series returns for the season with new outerwear and layering options. The Lightweight Mixed Media Vest adds another transitional piece to the lineup, while the Color Block Wind Quarter-Zip features modular construction that allows it to be worn with short or long sleeves.
There is plenty of pattern throughout the men’s range as well, with archival-inspired designs appearing in performance jacquards and tonal texture blocks. The effect gives familiar sportswear pieces a little more visual interest without overwhelming the rest of the outfit.
For women, the collection brings plaids, tailored silhouettes and menswear-inspired textures into a softer wardrobe. The new Floral Sweater Polo stands out with tonal colors inspired by natural landscapes, adding a feminine element to the season’s knitwear story.
Performance gets its own update through three new Original Penguin fabric platforms. ParTech is designed around stretch, movement and comfort. LuxTech focuses on a soft feel through a blend of natural fibers. RepelTech adds fluorocarbon-free water repellency for wet-weather protection. Those fabrics give the collection a technical foundation while the design stays rooted in sportswear. That balance is particularly useful in fall, when golfers need layers that can handle changing temperatures without making an outfit feel overly technical.
There is a lot of history packed into the collection, but the strongest pieces are the ones that make that history feel relevant today. The archive sweaters, reversible plaid vest and track jacket each have a clear point of view, while the polos and performance layers keep the collection grounded in modern golf.
