Rickie Fowler Goes Bold for THE PLAYERS Championship

Fresh off a head-turning appearance on the Red Carpet at the Kentucky Derby, Rickie Fowler will keep the daring looks going when he tees it up at the newly redesigned TPC Sawgrass for the 2017 edition of THE PLAYERS Championship.

The eye-catching apparel script assembled by Puma Golf with brilliant blues, bold stripes and ultra-modern prints is vintage Fowler. Of note, Rickie’s signature Sunday orange gives way to Mother’s Day Pink in the form of Puma’s Frequency Polo to demonstrate support for breast cancer research. You’ll remember Fowler captured the 2015 PLAYERS Championship while wearing a pink and blue shirt on Mother’s Day. Will history repeat itself?

Speaking of vintage, how about that retro rope hat Rickie will sport on Friday! This brings back memories of Lee Trevino in the ‘80s. I’m not ashamed to admit that a rope hat or two may have worked their way into my high school golf wardrobe back in the day. Of course, Rickie will make it look way cooler than I did while blastin’ some LL Cool J on my Walkman during the Summer of ’87.

Here’s a complete rundown of Rickie Fowler’s apparel for THE PLAYERS Championship, and be sure to check out all of Rickie’s looks at TRENDYGOLF.

  1. Puma golf is growing on me. Although I don’t see myself in any of this weekends gear, I do like much of the stuff they are marketing lately. Great call by Rickie to break out that Vineyard Vines Horse Repeat Sportcoat at the Derby.

    1. Of the four polos for the week, I’d wear Friday’s with blue pants and a blue belt. As for the Derby, I’d give the edge to Justin Thomas in the fashion department.

  2. I really like Rickie’s gray/white color blocked non high top shoes shown above. Rickie always nails the fit and tailoring of his apparel so even when another tour player wears the same apparel he always looks better in it.
