DJ has really become the King of Monochromatic Looks on Tour. His outfits are simple, clean, athletic and well tailored. While some in the world of fashion will disagree with me, I like how Dustin framed his monochromatic look with a white hat and shoes. I think they added an athletic touch to his look and made it more interesting than if he opted for a black hat and shoes. Also, the exotic skin belt brought some much-needed texture to his ensemble.
Speaking of DJ’s hat and shoes, this was the third win in 2015 for Adidas’ new adipure BOOST shoe. Jason Day and Brandt Snedeker won in back-to-back weeks in the shoe at Torrey Pines and Pebble Beach respectively. This was the first week that Dustin put the new BOOST kicks in play. As recently as last week at The Honda Classic, he was wearing Adidas’ pure 360 shoe.
Johnson also sported Taylor Made’s new 9Fifty snapback hat from New Era. I’ve always thought DJ has the perfect amount of curve in the bills of hats. The 9Fifty may be a flat billed cap, but check out how Johnson adds a bit of curve to it.
If you are favoring athletic styles on the course these days, then Dustin’s style is one you should copy.
