Billy Horschel Interview Feature

This Week in Golf Fashion: In the Navy

Fashion recap of the Wyndham Championship

Billy Horschel puts on a one-man fashion show, Duf flows in florals, Seamus Power goes on a Heater, Matt Wallace discovers the hidden bridge, and more.

Sedgefield Country Club hosted the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina. I recently read that there are eight military bases in NC. The U.S. Navy is the only branch without a base in the Tar Heel State. In honor of the Navy, this edition of TWIGF will only recognize golfers wearing (you guessed it), navy!

This is Jordan’s best look in my opinion. Navy suits him well. The fit is spot on, too. The UA Spieth 4 Golf Shoes are worth a try, if you like really-freaking-impressive-technology, that is.

The Heater polo from TravisMathew has become one of my go-to shirts for when the weather is well, hot. Speaking of HOT, you won’t want to miss the annual TravisMathew online Warehouse Sale that begins on August 17.

Have you checked out Dunning’s collection of polos lately? They are spectacular! Jason Dufner was rocking a few at Sedgefield Country Club that caught my eye, including this Forres Golf Shirt. I do love me a good floral print polo.

I’ve told you, do not sleep on Callaway apparel. Especially, their Swing Tech tops! They are legit. Callaway offers more sizing options than anyone in the industry. Whatever your size (big & tall, slim, or regular) they’ve got you covered.

Matt Wallace (J.Lindeberg & FootJoy)

My favorite feature of the J.Lindeberg KV TX Jacquard Polo is the JL bridge logos hidden in the camouflage design. The JL bridge across the back is pretty sweet, too.

Matt Jones (FootJoy)

I am a big fan of FootJoy’s Athletic Fit tops. I am also a big fan of golf novelty print shirts. No surprise that I thought Matt Jones looked big-time in this polo.

Billy Horschel (Ralph Lauren & FootJoy)

I found myself really rooting for a Billy-Ho victory at the Wyndham Championship. Regardless of the outcome, he looked like a winner to me. First, we had the RLX navy seersucker pants on Saturday and then the RLX Tech Pique Polo on Sunday. Both looks were marvelously complemented by the navy accented FootJoy Icon Shield Tips.

Want to add an edge to your game-day look? Pick up a glove from G/FORE. Brandt Snedeker earns bonus points for matching the color of his glove to the chest stripe on his shirt.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout (Galvin Green & FootJoy)

Finally, when the year ends and we begin to discuss our annual Threadies, you better believe that Christiaan Bezuidenhout will be in the discussion for best-dressed golfers of 2020. He and Galvin Green are a great match.

  1. Didn’t BillyHo’s white shirt look a little loose fitting? It looks like some of the brands are going back to a looser fit.

  2. Noticed that, as well. The Polo Golf pieces seem to have a more generous cut than the RLX pieces. Also, the RLX line has two different cuts, classic and tailored. Billy’s Sunday shirt was slimmer in the arms and body. I do think we are seeing a bit more width and slightly longer sleeves this year. Where as everything was ‘slim’ a couple of years ago, I think fits can best be described as ‘tailored’ right now
