GolfThreads x TRENDYGOLF Selects: Holiday Gift Guide

GolfThreads x TRENDYGOLF Selects continues to bring you curated collections of the best in golf fashion. For this edition, we turn our attention to the most wonderful time of the year—except for the stress of finding the perfect gift for that stylish golfer on your list.

By this time, you’ve probably been inundated with holiday gift guides from everyone with a social media account. How is this one different? Instead of compiling some PR-driven list of products, the GolfThreads Crew has decked the halls with fashionable jackets, vests, polos, pants, shoes, and gloves that are actually on our holiday gift lists.

Yes, Greg, Ian, Michael, and Janice made their lists and checked them twice. They’re filled with 20 things that are stylish and nice. We’ve even hung our G/FORE socks by the chimney with care.

If you have questions or need other recommendations, just drop a comment below and we’ll help. And remember, you can never go wrong with a gift card.

Greg’s List

Greyson Tundra Hybrid Jacket
This is the jacket to grab when the weather outside is frightful. Thanks to advances in fabric and insulating technologies, hybrid jackets are taking the fairways by storm. Greyson’s Tundra Hybrid is the most stylish of the lot. The tonal camo print on the front is sleek and mysterious, and the quilted diamond pattern is completely on trend. The water and wind resistant front blocks out the wind and rain while stretchy back and sleeves give you the range of motion you need to swing free and easy.

RLX Tailored Lightweight Tech Pant (Santorini Foulard)
Billy Horschel created a stir at The Northern Trust a couple of months ago when he stepped to the first tee of the FedEx Cup Playoffs in this Santorini Foulard Pant from Ralph Lauren. Not many were made, but our friends at TRENDYGOLF got their hands on a few, and I’ve reserved a spot in my closet for a pair.

J.Lindeberg Atna Hybrid Vest
Every golfer needs a quality puffer vest in his/her wardrobe. It warms your core like a hot cup of Irish coffee and frees your arms to blast drives (Laser show!) You may buy J.Lindeberg’s Atna Hybrid Vest for the course, but you’ll also zip it up for a day on the slopes, a cold winter jog, and an afternoon of hanging Christmas lights. (Russ, we checked every bulb, didn’t we?)

Janice has the women’s version of the Atna Vest on her list, too (see below). It is safe to say the GolfThreads crew is buying what JL is selling this Holiday season.

Galvin Green Achilles C-Knit Gore-Tex Jacket
The rainy season has arrived in California, which means it is time to layer up with the best in the biz. Galvin Green debuted this cutting-edge Japanese C-Knit fabric on the backs of the 2016 European Ryder Cup Team. The C-Knit back allows the jacket to ‘slide and glide’ over mid layers and base layers. Oh, yeah, it is also waterproof, breathable, and the rubberized collar and zippered cuffs help to seal out the rain. As awesome as this Achilles Jacket is from a technical standpoint, the gradient zipper is what separates it from the pack.

Hugo Boss Zadok Pro Sweater
I like to stand out on the course, but I like to do it in a very subtle way. The Zadok Pro Sweater possesses a unique tonal mélange design that is sure to turn heads for all the right reasons. I also like how the shoulders are cut for some added range of motion. A few weeks ago, Michael showed us how to maximize our golf wardrobes, and the Zadok is another great example of a piece that plays as well off the course as it does on it.

Ian’s List

J.Lindeberg Athletic Hoodie Tech Sweat
Hoodies epitomize the casualness of golf. This is a great piece for the course, the gym, or a casual dinner with the spouse. The super soft fabric will feel great over a polo when the temps dip this winter.

Greyson Polkaskull Printed Short
This item is for those of us who live in the south and can play year round or for the northerners who head south for the winter. Take your shorts game to the next level with this Greyson mini dot pattern. Your legs will thank you for showing them the sun this winter.

Kjus Superload Polo
I am a big fan of the pink and dark grey combination of this polo. Pair this with white shorts and you are in business for those early spring rounds.

Nike Dry Top Half Zip Seamless
Nike continues to develop great quarter-zip options. Thanks to its tailored fit, the Nike Dry Top should be on every golfer’s Christmas list. Available in three colors, this half zip has a subtle pattern across the front. It is warm enough for those chilly days and doesn’t add any swing impeding bulk.

G/FORE Socks
G/FORE socks add a little spice to your holiday and early spring golf attire. These are fun and stylish stocking stuffers to put on your list this year.

Michael’s List

J.Lindeberg Nolan True Merino
I love the detailing. The stripe on the sleeves coupled with the JL Bridge on the back gives this crewneck a sporty, sleek and stylish look. So sharp! You can easily wear this on the course and to the local cafe (where I like to have my sugar with coffee and cream).

PUMA Untucked Polo
I want the black AND the white version of this shirt! PUMA is killing it with their golf shirts lately. The versatility of this polo is out of this world, as is the tasteful modern design. I love that it gives you another dimension by wearing it tucked or untucked.

TravisMathew Messner Pants
TM doesn’t get enough credit for their pants. Their polos have always rocked, but their slacks are every bit as righteous. The Messner Pants appear to have a subtle texture that makes them out of sight. I am convinced the guys at TM went to a new galaxy to come up with their Prestige 777 fabric.

Hugo Boss Zelchior Pro
Forget about the stupid Ugly Holiday Sweater tradition. Wear something classy and bold like the Zelchior instead. Step inside the holiday party and disrupt the whole scene in this Boss sweater.

Nike Lunar Vaporstorm Black
I live in New England. Nike’s Lunar Vaporstorm is perfect for off-season rounds. Plus, when I see these kicks, I think of a really cool version of the moon boots I wore as a kid (intergalactic, planetary).

Janice’s List

This holiday I want it all – and I want it all to match! In that vein, here are my top five items from TrendyGolf on my wish list.

G/FORE Gloves
Hello, perfect stocking stuffer. I recently saw a red G/FORE golf glove in a social media post paired with a beautiful black sweater. I decided right then and there to click the purchase button because red says ‘it’s the holidays’ and it goes with so many things in my golf wardrobe.

The Cabretta AA leather is ultra soft, comfortable and has a great grip. With 16+ saturated color choices, better make room in the stocking for more than one.

For this outfit, choose red for a pop color, ice blue color for a more monotone approach – part of the fun is making your golf glove part of the ensemble.

Nike Aeroreact Mid-Layer Top
I’m already feeling cozy thinking about the Nike Aeroreact Mid-Layer Top. The turtleneck provides additional coverage and I’ll be wearing this piece to golf, lounge, gym and perhaps even as a ski base layer.

The Aeroreact technology breathes, moves with you, and helps to maintain an optimal body temperature. The hydrogen blue color will look great with both glove colors.

Puma Bloom Knit Skirt
For the bottom part of the outfit, Puma’s Bloom Knit Skirt in black has a sublimation or abstract floral print with some light blue tones that will nicely pick up our blue turtleneck.

The skirt has front hand pockets, detachable internal shorts and dryCELL fabric that wicks moisture away from the body. The polyester/elastane fabric blend gives enough stretch to maintain comfort and mobility. Easily throw a pair of black leggings underneath for fall/winter golf outings.

Royal Albartross Black Geometry Shoes
This brings us to shoes. If I saw a pair of golf shoes under my holiday tree I would be overjoyed! (Hint to husband.) And if they were the Royal Albartross Black Geometry Shoes I’ve been pining for, well, put a big check mark on my list.

I love the hidden laces, modern style, fine stitching and rich Italian leather. The Vibram outsoles make this a shoe that can be worn anywhere in comfort, including walking 18 holes. An additional pair of colored laces come with each pair of shoes when you want to change up the look.

J. Lindeberg Atna Hybrid Vest
We’re already to the fifth and final choice – hat, bag, belt, socks – we must go with the J. Lindeberg Atna Hybrid Vest in black, grey or white because it’s so versatile and provides both insulation and freedom of movement.

The technical aspects of the Atna Vest protect from wind and cooler temperatures, while the gorgeous quilt pattern and stretch side panels make it wearable for all sorts of activities, including with jeans for a day of shopping.

  1. I began to comment on some cool pieces and realized that all three of you did an amazing job. These selections were so cool and incredible looking. Please please please do something on belts. You do everything top notch and I would love something about belts.

    1. Thanks, Jim, and Happy Holidays. Janice has some cool stuff for the female golfers in your life, too. We thought this was a more authentic approach to a gift guide, so glad you to hear you liked it. Michael and I were talking about belts the other day, so stay tuned.
