GolfThreads x TRENDYGOLF Selects continues to provide curated collections of the best in golf fashion. For this edition we are giving you the opportunity to win one of the scripted outfits worn by a player at The Masters.
Here’s how it works. I’ve selected my four favorite outfits from this year’s Masters apparel scripts—one from Rickie Fowler, one from Justin Thomas, one from Danny Willett, and one from Tyrrell Hatton. If you win, choose your favorite outfit from the four, and TRENDYGOLF will send it to you.
To enter the giveaway, click here, correctly select the player who won last year’s Masters, and submit the form. The winner will be announced Tuesday, April 11th.
Rickie Fowler (Thursday)
From flat bills to joggers and high-tops, Rickie Fowler has never been afraid to shake things up in the fashion department. The latest example of this is the edgy camo ensemble that he’ll rock during the first round of The Masters. Sure, some traditionalists may call foul, but many of golf’s traditions need a reboot, anyway.
Puma calls this pattern Flagstick Camo, but this isn’t your ordinary camo. Word on the street is that it was inspired by Augusta’s greens.
I like that Puma has taken a subtle and fashion forward approach to this daring pattern. The polo and pants are well tailored and give us small splashes of the camo on the placket, collar, and front and back pockets. Plus the skinny three-button placket and short collar are quite chic. Of course, tying it all together is Rickie’s famous structured cap with a slight curve and the Flagstick Camo pattern on the back panels. Puma’s Stretch Belt accessorizes the look in style.
This kit is sure to turn heads on Thursday.
Justin Thomas (Friday)
No azaleas? No problem. By now you’ve probably heard that an ill-timed frost wiped out this year’s crop of azaleas at Augusta National, but Justin Thomas is doing his part to bring some flower power to The Masters with Ralph Lauren’s Vine Floral Polo.
These all-over floral prints continue to be one of the strongest trends on the fairways, and this is one of the most stylish shirts you’ll find this season. I love the colors and the intricate detail of this print. Plus, the classic fit and 100% Pima cotton fabric means this shirt works as well for that backyard cookout as it does on the course.
For purposes of our Masters Giveaway, we’re pairing the Vine Floral Polo with Ralph Lauren’s RLX Cyprus Short in White, Webbed Belt in Navy Blue, and Flexfit Cap in White. The Cyprus is a high-performance short that will complement a variety of shirts in your existing wardrobe. The belt will sync up perfectly with the navy blue in the floral print and the nylon material is a smart choice for the warmer summer months. The white hat proves that you don’t always have to match your hat to your belt.
Danny Willett (Saturday)
Thanks to well-tailored looks, Danny Willett has established himself as one of the best dressed players in the game. Earlier this year he partnered with Descente, and as a result, he has taken his style game to a whole new level.
Descente’s SS17 Collection is filled with luxurious high-performance fabrics and angular color blocked designs that offer a bold retro vibe. The Contrast Wave Technical Polo that Willett will wear on Saturday epitomizes this. It uses a combination of fabrics, including a mesh material on the left arm that wraps around the back of the shirt to provide breathability where you need it most.
Willett will pair this fashion-forward polo with Descente’s solid grey Technical Pant that is anything but basic. Again, a multi-material fabrication (cotton/nylon/polyurethane) and ergonomically cut panels make this a highly functional pant on or off the course.
To complete the look, we are adding a Flexfit Cap from TRENDYGOLF to the kit. The clean understated design will keep the focus clearly on Descente’s cool threads while complementing the overall look.
Tyrrell Hatton (Sunday)
Tyrrell Hatton is making a habit of putting his name on leaderboards. If he follows in fellow Englishman’s Danny Willett’s footsteps and gets a breakthrough win at Augusta, he’ll likely slip the Green Jacket over J.Lindeberg’s Carl Polo.
The Carl is not only one of my favorite shirts in JL’s SS17 Collection, but it is one of my favorites in any collection this season. It also happened to be the most popular polo amongst GolfThreads’ readers in our 3 Stylish Outfits for Your Spring Golf Trip post last week. We figured we’d give you a chance to win it now.
What makes the Carl Polo special? Color blocking and wide stripes are two hot trends right now. Combining them into one design is no easy feat, but J.Lindeberg has pulled it off in exquisite fashion.
Hatton will pair the Carl with JL’s Ellott Trouser – a slim-fitting technical pant that provides a sophisticated silhouette and tons of stretch. The Ellott will likely become one of your favorite pairs of pants in your closet. This granite grey colorway is highly versatile, which means it will work with nearly every top in your wardrobe.
Tyrrell isn’t scripted to wear a particular belt, but for the contest, we are completing the look with another one of my favorites—the Carter Brushed Leather Belt in Navy with the iconic JL bridge logo. This belt is soft and smooth and looks as good with a pair of jeans as it does with the Ellott trouser. Then we top it all off (literally) with JL’s sporty Angus Tech Stretch Cap in White.
Again, to enter the contest, click here, correctly select the player who won last year’s Masters, and submit the form. Good luck!
I love the shorter sleeves on the Descente polo. A great choice for Danny Willett to showcase the righteous tattoo on his inner bicep–a great spot for a tattoo, btw (if you are into that sort of thing–clearly Rickie is!). Speaking of Rickie, his Thursday ensemble is just awesome. So much fun! Glad he is getting the party started in this outfit. Personally, I am uncertain about this short, “matchstick” collar, but whatever, it’s Rickie and he will kill it! Another great feature and I hope I am faced with the difficult decision of which outfit to pick (as of right now it would be a toss up between JL and RLX).
Awesome to hear that you like the selections. Tried to pick something for everyone. Interested to see which one the winner goes with. Just hoping the guys have left the white belts at home this week.
In the early going of the Masters we’ve seen limited white belts! Poor Zach Johnson must not be reading the blog….
Adam Scott wardrobe choice was disappointing on day one. The colors make him look like he could be working at the zoo.
It’s a bit of a mess out there right now, and I’m not talking about the conditions. Zach has the white belt, white base layer combo. I’m not sure what is going on with Adam Scott. Best dressed of the day so far is 81 year old Gary Player.
I understand that it is chilly at Augusta today, but a nice sweater/pullover is always better than the “white-base-layer-under-the-polo” look. Seems to be a few guys sporting that look on day one. I feel like I am back in college.
