Callaway Apparel has been known for its simple and stylish range of essentials. Building an on-course wardrobe with Callaway’s solids, stripes, and color blocked designs has been a breeze.
For Fall 2016, the brand has upped its game by adding two fashion forward lines to its collection. Fashion Delivery One, which has just arrived, is filled with fresh and sporty takes on prints, fades, stripes, and paneled designs. The palette of lively blues and lime greens balanced against grays and blacks brings an energetic feeling to the fairways this season. Also, be on the lookout for a second fashion delivery from Callaway that features many of the same pieces in a palette of deep aquas and hot pinks.

To help you get your fall wardrobe moving in the right direction, our friends at Callaway Apparel are offering GolfThreads’ readers a 25% discount until October 16, 2016. (Check out the not-so-fine print below for details.) I hope you’ll head over to CallawayApparel.com and use the code THREADS to get the discount. If you need help deciding, here are my seven favorites from the Fashion Delivery One range to get you started.
Flat Front 5-Pocket Pant
With most collections, I typically start reviews with the polo shirts in the line. They tend to be the showcase pieces, and while Callaway has plenty of stylish polos in its Fashion Delivery One Range (see below), I’d be remiss if I didn’t kick this off with the brand’s new Flat Front 5-Pocket Pant.

This isn’t the first time that I’ve talked about 5-pocket pants. They have been trending in the game of golf for a couple of years, and they fit into the more casual vibe that has been dominating the fairways recently. While many 5-pocket styles are fabricated from cotton or cotton blends, Callaway’s 5-Pocket Pant brings the brand’s Opti-Dri (moisture wicking), Opti-Stretch (mechanical stretch) and Opti-Shield (sun protection) technologies to this laid back style.
To say I’ve been living in these pants for the last month would be an understatement. In fact, it is quite disappointing to have to take them off at the end of the day. Sure, the technical qualities make them an easy choice for the course, but I’ve been wearing them to and from the gym, to walk the dog, on the street, and while sitting on the couch watching football and the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

Forget wearing those pants from that yoga store that your wife wants you to wear. Callaway’s 5-Pocket Pant has earned a spot in your closet thanks to its comfort, performance, and style. The fabric is lightweight and airy, and everything about this pant is built around stretch – right down to the pockets and the waistband. With all this stretch, it allows this pant to have a cleaner fit without having to sacrifice comfort.
Tailoring Tip: Callaway’s 5-Pocket Pant is cut a bit slimmer than the brand’s other trousers, so ask your tailor for a short break. You want the hems to just brush the tops of your shoes.
Embossed Three Color Blocked Polo
If you are going to buy one Callaway polo shirt this fall, make it this one. It is my favorite polo in the collection. The bold color blocking on the shoulders creates a sporty look and a subtle embossed print on the chest adds a touch of texture. Plus, this shirt fits really well. It possesses a nice modern cut that is not too tight and not too billowy, and the narrow sleeves hit right at the middle of the biceps.

One way to add another dimension to your on course looks is to introduce a third color to your outfits. This is easier said than done, but the designers at Callaway have taken the guess work out of it by incorporating three different colors into the design of this polo. Available in two colorways in the Fashion One Delivery, the Caviar (a fancy name for black) is the safe play and receives a splash of color in the form of a vibrant blue angular stripe on the sleeves. On the other hand, if you are looking to amp up your look, the brilliant Magnetic Blue colorway with a hit of lime green is sure to brighten any dreary fall day.
Athletic Printed Stripes Polo
The blend of classic and athletic styles has made this one of the most popular polos among Callaway’s brand ambassadors. Thomas Pieters wore it during the third round of his victory on the European Tour at the end of August, which solidified his selection as a captain’s pick for the Ryder Cup Team.
One of the things that I really like about this shirt is its versatility. You can pair it with black pants for a sleek monochromatic look, gray trousers for a more classic aesthetic, or if you are feeling a bit daring, you can match it up with some lime green bottoms.
Like all of Callaway’s polos, this is loaded with technology. The mesh-like Opti-Vent fabric on the back provides ventilation and breathability where you need it most, while the Opti-Dri and Opti-Stretch fabrics transfer moisture and ensure maximum range of motion.

Brushed Pixel Printed Polo
How can we make technical shirts feel as soft as cotton? That was one of the big topics of conversation at the PGA Fashion Show back in August. While many brands have an answer for Spring 2017, Callaway finds itself ahead of the curve with its (you guessed it) Opti-Soft technology.

The polyester/spandex blend has all of Callaway’s innovative performance technologies for moisture management, playability, and sun protection, but it comes with the added benefit of a brushed fabric that is soft against the skin. It may be my imagination, but this shirt feels a touch heavier than the aforementioned polos, making it a smart choice for the cooler months.
As great as the technology is, the design is what made this shirt a must-have for me. Callaway’s designers have taken a very modern design element (a pixel) and used it to create a classic look (gradient stripes) for an interesting juxtaposition of styles. If you are looking for a comfortable and unique golf shirt for the digital age, check out this one.
Shadow-Striped Printed 1/4-Zip Pullover
One of the best parts about running GolfThreads is getting a preview of upcoming collections. The flip side is then having to wait six months for your favorite pieces to be released.

Such was the case with the Shadow-Striped Printed Pullover. It caught my eye as soon as I walked into the Callaway booth at the PGA Merchandise Show back in January. The blocked design is simple, modern, and athletic. I like that the tonal stripes create a very clean look and the accent stripe ties nicely to the raised logo on the left sleeve.
This is the pullover to grab on those warm fall days. The lightweight technical French Terry material is super soft and locks in the warmth, plus the 90/10 poly/spandex blend makes this one of the most flexible pullovers on the market.
1/4-Zip Waffle Fleece Pullover
I don’t use superlatives too often, but this is the warmest pullover I’ve ever worn. If the Shadow-Striped Printed Pullover is perfect for warm fall days, the Waffle Fleece is built for those cool and blustery autumn rounds. With its thermal attributes, this pullover can be worn as an outer layer or it can act as a mid layer as you extend the golf season into the winter months. What makes this pullover amazing is how thin it is. It packs in the warmth without packing on the bulk.

Micro Weight Fleece Vest
Every golfer needs a great technical vest and Callaway’s Micro Weight Fleece Vest fits the bill. Similar to the Waffle Fleece Pullover, this vest delivers warmth without the weight. This is achieved through hollow polyester yarns that trap warm air and body heat. If you are cold, these hollow fibers trap the heat and return it to the body. If you are running as hot as Patrick Reed in a Ryder Cup match, then the hollow fibers wick moisture and release heat. It is the perfect technology for those unpredictable fall days. Available in classic gray or black, this vest can easily be layered over a polo, a sweater, or a mid layer for an extra level of warmth.

I like! Nice review. How’d you find the fit to be? Specifically the Brushed Pixel Polo and Shadow-Striped Printed 1/4 Zip Pullover…
Hi Tyler,
Thanks for reading! Great question. I find that the shirts and pullovers run big, so I would recommend sizing down. I typically wear a medium, but I wear a small in Callaway.
Great – exactly what I needed to know. Thanks for the quick response!
Enjoy! Let me know what your experience is with the fit, but I think sizing down will work for you.
