Tom Morris, a new brand from (where else) St. Andrews, Scotland, won the coveted Buyer’s Choice Award at the PGA Show this past week. There was buzz coming out of the show about the brand that could be heard throughout the golf world. Take one look and it is easy to see why.
Tom Morris has a unique and refreshing angle to go along with a look that is unmistakably Scottish. Traditional patterns (tartans) and fabrics (wools and tweeds) that you would expect from a Scottish brand are blended with new school styles. Just looking at their clothes I feel compelled to take a trip to the Old Course, or even just head up to Bandon Dunes for the weekend.
At this point, the Tom Morris website is comprised of a single “Coming Soon” landing page, but the brand was active on Twitter and Facebook throughout the show sharing images of various pieces in its collection, including a shawl collar cardigan, outerwear with elbow patches, blazers, knitwear and even bow ties.
More will be heard from Tom Morris in the coming months. It is definitely a brand to keep an eye on, so give them a follow on Twitter or Facebook. You may even learn some new apparel terms, such as gilet.
