Masters Fashion Dimes & Crimes: Days 3 & 4

This was downright Dime drudgery! However, I found motivation on Easter Sunday in Viktor Hovland’s fashion resurrection, Collin’s Blue Fusion, Cam’s love for the Brisbane Lions, and Abraham’s Joey Tribbiani-tribute. We wrap up all the Dimes and Crimes from the 2023 Masters.

Fashion Dimes

Viktor Hovland (J.Lindeberg & Nike)

This J.Lindeberg Mid Layer is called “Lazarus” and despite my average intelligence, the brilliance wasn’t lost on me! Viktor didn’t impress from a fashion standpoint on Thursday and Friday (back-to-back “Crimes”), but he came back from the dead with this appropriately named, Dime-worthy layer. For those of you who don’t know, Lazarus was brought back to life by Jesus.

Alex Noren’s Macade Golf Orange TX Tour Quarter Zip was a bright spot on an otherwise dismal day at Augusta National.

Collin Morikawa (adidas Golf)

In a sea of navy and black outerwear, this adidas Golf Hoodie in Blue Fusion was a refreshing change of pace.

Cameron Smith (Original Penguin & FootJoy)

Perfect pairing! The pink stripe in Cameron Smith’s Original Penguin 70’s Insulated Golf Jacket masterfully complements the Primrose Pink version of the FootJoy Pastel Premiere Series. Little known fact for ya, the maroon stripe on this jacket is a nod to Cam’s favorite Australian rules football club, the Brisbane Lions. He almost always wears maroon on the final round of a tournament.

Joaquin Niemann (adidas Golf)

Greg said it the other day and I will second it; Jaco is the LIV guy I miss most on the PGA Tour, style-wise. The textured fabric on this adidas Golf Flat-Knit Crew Sweatshirt gives it an elevated woven appearance. Elegance of a sweater but function of a performance layer! Niemann’s ability to mix and match shows his high fashion IQ.

Patrick Cantlay (B.Draddy & FootJoy)

I’ve been a fan of this B.Draddy 007 Cashmere Crewneck for quite some time. This epitomizes timeless style. And the fit is on point for Patrick Cantlay.

Fashion Crimes

Justin Rose

With all the layering options available these days, a base layer under your polo is unacceptable. A black base layer under a white polo is the crime of all crimes. At least Justin Rose didn’t opt for a white belt.

Patrick Reed

Lots of stuff going on here that I am not a fan of. (See Justin Rose for my thoughts on this black base layer). The deep neckline of Reed’s V-neck sweater looks awkward with this polo. A better option would’ve been a 1/4 zip vest in black or charcoal.

Henley needs a hem.

All I could think of when I saw Abraham Ancer in all of his layers was…
