Holiday Gift Guide: Deck the Fairways in Style

The good ol’ holiday gift guide is a tradition unlike any other. Every brand, media outlet, and person with an Instagram account has one. How is GolfThreads’ Holiday Gift Guide different? Instead of compiling some PR-driven list of products, the GolfThreads Crew has decked the halls with fashionable jackets, shirts, pants, shoes, and accessories that are actually on our holiday gift lists or that are integrals parts of our rotation.

Take a look at these gift ideas for the stylish golfer in your life. If you have questions or need other recommendations, just drop a comment below and we’ll help.

Michael’s List

RLX Color-Blocked Hybrid Vest

The snap chest pocket pops on this RLX Color-Blocked Hybrid Vest and adds a layer of depth to an already sophisticated layer. This mockneck vest offers lightweight warmth for cooler weather thanks to its soft fleece and quilted ripstop panel.

Chervo NUR Sweater

Chervo’s NUR crewneck sweater brings a sporty après ski feel to the golf course. The handcrafted waffle stitch is a full-bodied cashmere wool blend. The striped pattern on the raglan sleeves elevates this top to alpine-like levels. Worn with jeans or dress trousers this is an eternally stylish layer for any gentlemen’s closet.

ECCO M Golf BIOM G5 BOA

There is more technology packed into the ECCO M Golf BIOM G5 than any golf shoe on the market: GORE-TEX. ZAMRA-TOUR. BOA. FLUIDFORM. Dang, that’s almost as much technology as the Artemis mission to the moon. These shoes are an excellent mélange of innovation and design. Plus, if you don’t know what footwear to pair with joggers on the course…look no further.

Under Armour Iso-Chill

I know we are heading into winter but for those of you who prefer to think of warmer days ahead, this is for you. Under Armour’s Iso-Chill line is the BEST warm-weather gear on the market. UA flattened out the fibers and added some NASA-level science to create a game-changing fabric that quickly pulls heat away from the skin-keeping you calm, cool, and crushing at max capacity. I would go so far as to call the Iso-Chill shorts the best shorts I’ve ever worn. Period. Don’t sleep on these Iso-Chill polos either; they are out of this world.

TravisMathew Cloud Collection

I live in New England and the winters are looong! Give me something soft and comfortable. The plush fleece fabric of the TM Cloud Hoodie is as cozy as anything I’ve ever worn. The Cloud Flannel and Tees are pretty special too, but what I am most intrigued by is the latest addition to the collection: Cloud Denim Pant and Jacket.

adidas LE Samba OG Golf Shoes

My professional opinion is that the adidas Samba OG Golf Shoes will be the hottest limited edition golf release of the holiday season. I’ve got my pair and I assure you, they are ahh-maze-ing! I wear them all the time. They are set to drop sometime mid-late November so keep your eyes peeled.

Rhoback The Old Fashioned Polo & The Rooster Q-Zip

David is one of my best friends and his doppelgänger is Miles Teller. Miles Teller played “Rooster” in the movie, Top Gun: Maverick. David calls me “Rooster” (because my last name is Ruuska). The aforementioned friend who looks like Rooster in the movie Top Gun: Maverick, loves to drink an Old Fashioned cocktail. I imbibe the Finnish Long Drink (which Miles Teller co-owns). Coincidentally, my last name is Finnish. Still with me? OK, cool. Rhoback was one of my top brands of 2022. Rhoback has a polo, The Old Fashioned, and a Q-Zip, The Rooster. Nuf ced.

Greg’s List

FootJoy ThermoSeries

What’s better than a warm layer for those chilly winter rounds? How about an entire layering system? With everything from hybrid jackets and mid-layers to vests and pants, FootJoy’s ThermoSeries includes a range of versatile pieces that can be worn individually or in combination with one another. This means you can take on Mother Nature from Boxing Day to Labor Day. If you buy just one piece, make it the hybrid jacket with a woven shell and a bungee cord closure at the neck to keep out cold air.

Holderness & Bourne Ward Sweater

Dress it up or dress it down. Wear it as a top layer or under a blazer or insulated vest. H&B’s Ward Sweater will work with just about everything in your closet and brings a casual sophistication to any on- or off-course fit. Not to mention, H&B has some of the best-fitting tops in the game and the luxurious Egyptian cotton is (chef’s kiss).

Asher Golf Apres Sport Set

There’s nothing quite like sipping a smooth bourbon by a roaring fire after a brisk 18. Ditch your grandfather’s stuffy tweed jacket and leather armchair and exchange them for Asher’s cozy Apres Sport Set and an overstuffed couch. The Sponge Hoodie and Sport Jogger are also perfect for trips home from the gym and flights to winter breaks to tropical locales.

Eastside Golf Staple Sweatshirt

Honestly, if you can grab something from Eastside’s new Red Clay drop, I say go for it, but I fully expect that collection to go faster than the Thanksgiving stuffing. Either way, the brand’s Staple Sweatshirt is an essential that will keep you looking fresh from the course to the club.

Lambda Golf Shoes

If you find yourself saying, “they don’t make them like they used to” when it comes to golf shoes, then a pair of Lambdas should be on the top of your holiday wish list. They are handmade in Portugal, and these kicks bring plenty of sophisticated swagger to the first tee. Traditional brogues and saddles (like the Monza White & Diamond) offer an old-school style with stacked heels while blending modern comfort technologies. On the flip side, the contemporary trainer styles (such as the Potenza) bring a sporty look to the fairways or the streets.

Greyson Montauk Trousers

In team sports, certain players are always the first names that the coach or manager writes into the starting lineup. The same can be said for Greyson’s Montauk Trousers and my holiday gift list. Light, stretchy, and silky smooth, the Montauk’s are my go-to pants on the course and I look for any reason to wear them off the course, too. If you already have the basic black, navy, and grey colors in your wardrobe, add some of the seasonal fashion colors, such as Aubergine, Fiddle, Hawkeye, or Bittersweet.

GOLFFOREVER Swing Trainer

Working out has always been a part of my daily routine, but I’ve never really done golf-specific workouts. 2023 will be the year of hitting the garage gym with the purpose of improving my golf game and the GOLFFOREVER Swing Trainer will be at the heart of the sessions. It embodies three golf training tools in one. It’s an asymmetrical resistance training bar that builds strength and mobility, a premium exercise band with handles and two resistance options for versatile training and stretching, and a heavy warmup club optimized to a D3 Swing Weight that promotes thoracic mobility to loosen up at the course properly.

GolfThreads tip: Look for a special Black Friday/Cyber Monday offer from GOLFFOREVER with a $25 discount on the swing trainer and a free 30-day subscription to the app with hundreds of step-by-step pre-round warmups, stretching routines, strength workouts, and pain-relief protocols.

Linksoul Cord Jacket

This is The Year of the Shacket and Linksoul’s Cord Jacket strikes the perfect balance between casual ruggedness and comfort. On warmer days, layer it over one of Linksoul’s cool graphic tees. When the temps drop, throw it over one of the brand’s soft cashmere hoodies.

Jones Knit Beanies

Much like Greyson’s Montauk Trousers, Jones’ beanies make their way onto my holiday gift list every year. For 2022, Jones is offering soft, waffle knit beanies in a plethora of colors. Go with neutrals that will complement any fit or punch up your look with a fashionable burgundy, sage, or lavender color.

Eagle Par Birdie Golf Towel

I didn’t know much about Eagle Par Birdie Golf until I played Goat Hill Park a few weeks ago. Once I saw the brand’s colorful towels with a laid-back surfing vibe, I knew it was time for the boring white towel that had taken up residence on my golf bag to be replaced. The towels from Eagle Par Birdie have multiple textures for cleaning clubs, including a microfiber waffle texture on one side and a surf-inspired pattern on the other side.

Western Birch Tees

It is time to take your tee shots to another level in 2023 and I’m not talking about that $1000 custom driver. The style and swagger of Western Birch’s premium tees can only be equaled by your carefully curated outfit. There is no shortage of colors and stripes in a variety of lengths, and you can even customize the cups of the tees with a personal logo. For an added gift-giving touch, check out Western Birch’s gift box that includes 250 tees of your choice, a nice canvas valuables pouch, and a sticker.

Whiskers Laces

Quietly, there is a new footwear trend on Tour. If you look closely, more players are adding a pop of personality to basic white shoes with colorful shoelaces from Whiskers Laces. The company’s premium golf shoelaces are available in more than 70 colors and patterns, and they are made from an ultra-durable poly-nylon weave with an appropriate amount of stretch. They feature high-grade aglets that withstand tough conditions and are slim-wrapped to fit skinny eyelets.
