BRADY Brand Golf Collection

Full disclosure, I am an unabashed Tom Brady fanboy. I was 25 years old and working at a middle school in a Boston suburb when the New England Patriots drafted Tom Brady with the 199th pick of the 2000 NFL Draft. He became the starting quarterback during his second season, which saw the Patriots win their first Super Bowl title. During his 20-year run with the Patriots, Brady led them to 17 division titles (including 11 consecutive from 2009 to 2019), 13 AFC Championship Games (including eight consecutive from 2011 to 2018), nine Super Bowl appearances, and six Super Bowl titles, all NFL records for a player and franchise. I was all-in on Tom Brady as the GOAT.

Although I do not begrudge TB12 for signing with Tampa Bay, I prefer to not focus on anything Brady-related PP (Post-Patriots). Until this came along….

BRADY Brand Golf Collection

In January 2022 Tom Brady launched his eponymous clothing brand, BRADY.

I have a very athletic lifestyle. It’s not just an athletic life, but I’m constantly going between things for my kids as I’ve gotten older, to business meetings, to working out and training. I wanted to create something that can sustain the entire part of the day. And it’s gotta look great. I want it to be timeless. When I look back years from now, it’s not something that I’m like, “Man, what was I wearing?” I really wanted to use the things that I’ve learned about performance, being technical about the details, that’s what mattered and had mattered in my football career. There was great intention of trying to accomplish something really special and there was a lot of details that went into our work and there was a lot of creativity to what we are doing.

On April 17 BRADY Brand released their athleisure-inspired golf collection; featuring unique fabric blends with built-in UPF40 sun protection, wind and water resistance, targeted ventilation, quick-dry technology, and rip-stop construction for prolonged durability.

Style > Fashion

The 14-piece BRADY Brand Golf Collection has a timeless feel with a style reminiscent of Arnold Palmer. There is an understated elegance to the collection and most items refreshingly, have no visible branding. The collection consists of golf staples that work to keep you looking as eternally youthful as Tom himself.

I would say I prefer style over fashion. Fashion, I feel is such in the moment and I think fashion has its moments and some people can really pull that stuff off. I’ve always felt like I wanted to wear things that I could kind of be in … if someone takes a picture of something, I could look back 15 years later and be like yeah, I understand why I was wearing that while I was rocking that suit or those sunglasses or that hat.

There is a vintage vibe to the BRADY polos. They offer elevated performance in a classic silhouette. I found the shirts to be slightly on the smaller size in both length and fit. I went with my usual “Large” (6′ 195 lbs.) and they were spot on based on my preference. However, if you prefer a slightly roomier fit, definitely size up.

The lightweight pant and shorts are perfect for warmer weather. Both offer protection from the sun, 4-way stretch, and anti-static properties. They also provide a water repellent finish for early mornings or tropical downpours. The shorts come in a 9″ inseam and the pants are a standard 34″ inseam. The extended tab-front waistband is a great-looking feature that allows you to go sans belt if you wish and is constructed with a stretch waistband. I found the cut generous enough to accommodate my “hockey thighs” without being too baggy.

Engineered knits were my favorite items in the BRADY Brand golf collection. A sweater vest that performs and looks cool? Sign me up for that. In fact, I will take one in each colorway. A hybrid sweater that has elements of both a bomber and track jacket? No brainer. Give me more knitwear on the course this spring!
