Fashion Dimes

Justin Rose (Bonobos)

My favorite shirt of the tournament. In fact, the dark and moody Bonobos Black Rosy polo might be one of my favorite’s of the year!

Danny Willett (Descente)

Danny Willett always seems to deliver a Fashion Dime. This monochromatic kit was killer. Descente shirts continue to be the best I’ve never worn. Danny appears to be mixing up his shoes lately. The white Nike Janoski shoes were the perfect choice. Black would’ve been too much.

Matt Wallace (J.Lindeberg & FootJoy)

By now I think you know the GolfThreads stance when it comes to black vs. white footwear. Curious to know what our readers think. Would Matt Wallace have looked better in white shoes? I think so. A Dime nonetheless.

Rory McIlroy (Nike Golf)

Rory reppin, yo. He was the best dressed Nike athlete at ANGC. Earlier in the round, he had on a simple black vest that looked equally impressive. However, it seems criminal to cover up this pink Dri-Fit polo with the chambray lining, pearlized buttons, and light blue on the inner placket. I was also diggin’ the Nike “Fearless Together” shoe pack, especially the Roshe version. I am curious to see what Rory will be wearing on his feet next year. I hear rumors of Victory Tour 2s on the way in 2021.

Adam Scott (Uniqlo & FootJoy)

Experience the elegance of a bygone era with Adam Scott’s unassuming v-neck sweater, trousers with a classic silhouette, and the cap-toe FootJoy Premiere’s. This is old school sophistication at its best.

Dustin Johnson (Adidas Golf)

DJ always looks best in navy monochromatic kits. I’d say the Green Jacket made him look even better.

Another day, another Dime. Ho-hum.

The shirt and slacks combination was pretty bad, to begin with. Add in that green belt? Ugh.

    1. Hi Joe, those are part of the new FootJoy Premiere series that are slated to be released on Feb. 15. We’ve been pretty sweet on those for awhile! Good eye!

  1. hey michael ! i too love the site. here’s a question or two… why is it so hard to track down gear for purchase ? do nike and adidas make this stuff for the public – or just tour stars ?

    1. Hello Michael. Thanks for the kind words. It is great to have so much reader engagement! Some of the gear worn on Tour is available for us consumers, other stuff is made only for the players and sadly is never made available to mere mortals. A vague answer, I know. Is there something particular you noticed?
