This Week In Golf Fashion: Properly Caffeinated

A little background on me; I am a high school guidance counselor by day and the GolfThreads Tour Editor by night. I also have two children under the age of thirteen. Life is hectic. Monday mornings, in particular, are tough as I work late on Sunday’s reviewing and categorizing pictures to use for This Week In Golf Fashion. Fortunately, my friend Chris at Good Walk Coffee Company keeps me properly caffeinated.

Just to be clear, I do not get paid to endorse any of the brands I write about nor do I get compensated for my contributions to GolfThreads. This is a passion project. Plain and simple. If this platform can help promote good people and good products, then I feel better about toiling in the salt mines of golf fashion. Good Walk Coffee Company are exceptional people who happen to make an exceptional golf-themed product. So, if you are a coffee lover (I already know you love golf) use code GOLFTHREADS20 to get 20% off your order, for a limited time.

Brandon Stone lost the Oman Open in a playoff to my countryman, fellow Finn, Sami Valimaki. Coincidentally, Oman is located in the southeast corner of the Arabian Peninsula, which happens to be where coffee cultivation and trade began in the 15th century. Brandon looked on point for the entire tournament. His well-tailored kits were highlighted by his FJ Icon Shield Tips.

Fred Couples (Jim Nantz Collection by Vineyard Vines & ECCO)

Fun little fact; did you know that Fred Couples and Jim Nantz were college roommates at the University of Houston in the early 1970s? Fred is also the only golfer to exclusively wear the Jim Nantz Collection by Vineyard Vines. While I am dropping knowledge, it was ten years ago this April that Fred Couples debuted the original Ecco Golf Street shoe at The Masters. This concept sparked the hybrid golf shoe revolution. A limited-edition Golf Street 10 Shoe is now available.

No, this is not a picture from The Masters in 2010 when Fred Couples debuted his groundbreaking shoe. This is Rikard Karlberg of Sweden playing at the Oman Open on Sunday. Fashion is cyclical. I love it. Rikard could just as easily wear this outfit to a hip little cafe in SoHo.

Anytime I see a cardigan on the course, it brings a smile to my face. I just wish Charl had gone with dark blue trousers to really make the Michael Kors sweater pop.

Luke Donald (Greyson Clothiers & Jordan Brand)

As much as I love Greyson Clothiers I do not own any of their apparel. I am going to have to do something about that this season. The Jardin De Loupe Polo and its intricate, all-over print could be the first Greyson piece that gets added to my collection.

The tipped collar on the G/FORE Core Mid pullover is eye-catching.

Larry Fitzgerald

Larry Fitzgerald went to Queenstown to participate in the New Zealand Golf Open. Not only does Larry have game. He’s got style, too. He kills it in these joggers.

Brandon Hagy (Theory)

I was excited to see that the NYC-based contemporary fashion label, Theory made their way to the golf course. If you are not familiar with them, you should check them out.

Adidas Golf is putting out some great stuff so far this year. The Ultimate 365 Print Polo shirt is a favorite of mine. The gradient stripes really enhance the color-blocking.
