“Champagne tastes a lot better after you win.” Rickie Fowler uttered that statement after claiming his fifth PGA Tour victory at the 2019 Waste Management Open. After taking home more than $1.2 million, I’m sure he was sipping the good stuff, too.
The team at Puma Golf is known for cranking out creative limited edition pieces and Rickie’s bottle-poppin’ quote was all the inspiration they needed for the limited edition Champs Collection of shoes, hats, and gear that Rickie will wear as he defends his title this week.

The limited edition IGNITE PROADAPT CHAMP shoes feature a green and champagne-gold colorway, champagne bubbles, a gold formstripe and the iconic recycle logo on the inside of the shoe. In the spirit of the tournament, the sock-liner is comprised of recyclable material.

PUMA is also launching six tournament-inspired caps, designed with recyclable materials, in green and gold colorways – two P Caps, two City Cap and two new Trucker P Caps.

The P Caps and truckers include elements created from cork and the green P Cap is adorned with an all-over print consisting of champagne bottles, glasses, and bubbles. “Champagne tastes a lot better after you win” is inscribed on the inside of the two P caps. The City Caps are embroidered with “Phoenix” and “Scottsdale” in a retro script. Both take me back to the late ‘80s. I may have rocked a black and red Chicago Bulls lid constructed from a wide wale corduroy with a similar font back in the day.

Rounding out the collection is a custom Puma Golf x VESSEL Limited Edition Stand Bag, inspired by the tournament’s slogan, ’The Greenest Show on Grass’ and Rickie’s toast-worthy win last year.
We got a sneak peek at the collection last week at the PGA Show. Somehow we managed to keep our lips sealed until the time was right. This is just the beginning. More cool limited edition collections are on the way from Puma, but we’ve been sworn to secrecy.
I remember the Starter brand scripted hats as a kid and had a Philly eagles one. Love the Puma script hats.
