Dapper Diaper Dandies: 6 Stylish Rookies to Watch

Who are the best dressed rookies on the PGA Tour? In no particular order, Tour Editor Michael Ruuska gives us six sensational sartorial freshmen to watch for the 2018-2019 season. Like the great Dick Vitale says, “This is gonna be awesome, baby….”

Let’s face it; chicks dig the long ball and Cameron Champ hits the ball a long way. At 6 ft and 175 lbs, with long arms and legs, he has the perfect build to stand out on the course. He reminds me of a bigger Rory McIlroy. However, if he wants the chicks to really dig him, I would suggest adding the Nike Slim Flex 5-Pocket Pant to his repertoire in lieu of his traditional looking slacks. Normally I am not a fan of buttoning the top button (see Bubba Watson) but Champ pulls it off. “He’s awesome, baby, with a capital A.” He’s also the newest winner on the PGA Tour.

Kramer Hickok (Greyson)

Greyson. Need more be said? When you wear Greyson as a rookie and have the build of Hickok you are an instant contender for “Fashion Dimes”. “This guy is a PTPer, baby!” Could be one of the best-dressed guys on tour in the near future. Fashion-wise, Hickok has the upside to be the next Billy Horschel….

Adam Svensson (Puma)

Adam Svennson rocks the monochromatic look and is at his best when doing so. He appears to have a preference for tapered slacks, which look great and draw attention to his footwear; and that’s a good thing given that he laces up some righteous FootJoy’s. Svennson is not too flashy but consistently looks good.

Wyndham Clark (Nike)

Wyndham Clark is another Nike guy who is well tailored. He has the perfect physique for Nike apparel. In fact, Clark has the looks of an SEC Quarterback. Loves his web belts; unfortunately, the white one appears to be his go-to belt.

Joey Garber (Puma)

Joey Garber’s lettuce and scruff make him an instant G.W.A. (Golfer With Attitude) candidate. He has a real carefree, surfer/hipster vibe going on (he looks like he could be in the Zac Brown Band). Garber has good “flow” and I don’t mean his hair! He always seems to pick a great belt that creates a nice flow between his shirt and pants.

Brady Schnell (Donald Ross)

Brady Schnell is the elder statesman of the group. His build is shorter and stockier than the others on this list, yet he wears his clothes well. He reminds me of Ryan Moore. Schnell is a great fashion role model for most of the guys I play with. Just because you are not built like Dustin Johnson does not mean you can’t look like a boss.

  1. I can’t stand the top button being buttoned. Champ looks solid but that button. These are fantastic choices and like that they guys are mixing it up apparel wise. Not all Adidas and Nike.

  2. Did you see Sam Ryder in Vegas? All black, high tight joggers, no socks, ankles showing and black shoes. Very interesting new look. You guys may need to write about it!
