Greg Norman Collection continues to find new and interesting ways to work itself into our closets. What started on the course with high-performance fabrics and classic, yet sporty designs has weaved its way into many other segments of our wardrobes. Last year, the brand got us in shape with its Attack Life Collection of active wear. This fall, the Shark’s casual Modern Heritage Collection is taking us everywhere from the office to Thanksgiving dinner in style.
Although golf has its own sartorial subculture, fairway fashions have always been highly influenced by the biggest trends in men’s fashion (think butterfly collars and bell bottoms in the ‘70s, pleats and oversized everything in the ‘90s, and most recently, slim fits and athleisure inspired looks). However, with today’s active lifestyles, roles have been reversed. Many of the technical and comfort features golfers have become accustomed to on the course are now making their way to the menswear scene in the form of high-performance dress shirts and slacks.

Greg Norman Collection is known for having some of the best performance fabrics in the game, so it is no surprise to see the brand at the forefront of this active sportswear movement. In fact, the new Modern Heritage Collection carries the moniker of, “Drawing inspiration from today’s golf lifestyle.”
This collection fuses super clean looks with a contemporary urban aesthetic and a rich color palette for the season (navy, charcoal, and camel). The range of sport shirts, polos, 5-pocket trousers, sweaters, and outerwear, works as hard as you do and easily transitions to different settings throughout the day. Thanks to a hint of Spandex in the sport shirts, you can even wear them to the practice range or for a quick nine while ‘working from home.’ If you decide to go this route, we recommend channeling Justin Thomas at the Open Championship by pairing a Modern Heritage shirt with a sweater from the collection and a tie of your choice.
Modern Heritage Performance Outerwear Blazer

After a couple of months of soaring early fall temperatures here in California, cooler air has started to roll in. This means I can finally break out the Performance Outerwear Blazer from Greg Norman’s Modern Heritage Collection. Seriously, this jacket has been taunting me from the closet since August. Occasionally, we shared a passing glance; both of us knowing that the time wasn’t quite right for it to be removed from the hanger. Thankfully, when the calendar flipped to November, autumn-like temperatures arrived and I’ve been all in on this jacket since.
The Performance Outerwear Blazer is sleek and sophisticated. If you didn’t know it was from a golf company, you’d think it just walked off a runway at New York Fashion Week. You can easily dress it up with a pair of classic trousers or dress it down with a dark pair of jeans. You can even wear it over a dress shirt as a high tech sports coat or over a sweater for an extra layer of warmth on the street.
This jacket is also the best example of how the team at Greg Norman fused contemporary performance fabrics with a timeless design. The slim silhouette offers a classic aesthetic while the performance twill fabric stretches in all the right places and the water-repellent outer shell protects against autumn’s cool rains.
Modern Heritage Trouser

The Modern Heritage Trouser captures the contemporary sophistication of this collection. One look at the dark charcoal color and wool-like texture and you’ll think this is a classic grey dress pant. Unlike all the other grey dress slacks in your closet, this one feels and acts like your favorite pair of golf pants. Plus, the slim (not skinny) cut and 5-pocket design will keep you on trend, no matter where your day takes you.
Pair this trouser with a button-up at the office or an untucked knit or woven shirt for a more casual attitude. Thanks to the performance qualities you can even wear this pant on the course. A well-tailored polo and a pair of classic brogues will complete the look in style.
Luxury Blend V-Neck Sweater
I’m a sweater guy. Compared to pullovers, sweaters present a more polished and put together look. That being said, it is easy to see why the Luxury Blend V-Neck Sweater has become an integral part of my fall wardrobe.
The classic design combined with a modern fit looks as good on the course as it does in the corner office. Best of all, the cotton, viscose, polyester, and mercerized wool blend possesses a soft luxurious hand feel and is a breeze to wash and wear. Forget bringing this sweater to the dry cleaners. Simply pop it into the washing machine, hit it with a hot iron, and slip it over a dress shirt for a stylish business casual look.
Your only challenge will be choosing between the navy, charcoal, and camel colorways. All three are traditional autumn hues and perfect for the season.
Modern Heritage Polo Shirts

Polo shirts have been Greg Norman Collection’s bread and butter for 25 years so it is no surprise to see a few in the Modern Heritage Collection. However, the Modern Heritage polos possess a different vibe compared to those in the brand’s golf collection. With heathered fabrics, tonal prints, and tailored collars, these shirts offer a more refined look.
Although I’ve loved the performance benefits of Greg Norman’s renowned ML75 performance fabric on the course, the Pima Cotton/Micropolyester/Spandex blend on the Modern Heritage polos combines a luxurious natural hand feel with moisture-wicking qualities, sun protection, and stretch. This fabric brings a whole new dimension to the brand’s range of polos.
Modern Heritage Knit Sport Shirts

The versatile pieces in the Modern Heritage Collection are the knit sport shirts. Constructed from a Polyester Jacquard with the brand’s PLAY DRY technology, these well-tailored shirts can be worn untucked with dark denim for a drink with friends or tucked in with the Modern Heritage Trouser for a day at the office.
I am impressed. This Greg Norman Heritage Collection transcends generations. Looks sharp. I love some spandex and flex in my dress shirts. I have a button down from Linksoul and one from Polo Ralph Lauren that I wear to work and then to my Friday niner regularly. Maximizing my golf wardrobe…..
Greg Norman has really changed from crummy cheap off brand look to a very stylish current proud apparel line. I really like this fall offering. The dress shirt and sweaters are very classic but with a current edge.
