Masters Fashion Dimes & Crimes: Day 3

GolfThreads opened up today’s edition of Masters Fashion Dimes & Crimes to nominations from Twitter followers. Who striped it and who swiped it in the eyes of our followers? Here is a break down of the best and worst of style from round three at the Masters.

Smylie Kaufman (Polo Ralph Lauren)
Twitter follower @yootopea nominated Smylie for the Dimes list, while @crigley2k thought the belt choice was a Crime. Hmm…what to do. While I would have opted for a black, navy, grey or green belt, the rest of Smylie’s ensemble was solid and perfect for a Moving Day at Augusta.

Danny Lee (Devereux)
Another day, another fresh look from Danny Lee. Nice balance and color.

Danny Willett (Callaway Europe Apparel)
Props to @crigley2k for pointing out Willett, too. The tone-on-tone color blocking at the shoulders gave this classic look an athletic twist.

Brooks Koepka (Nike Golf)
Love the bright blue trousers. This is what Rory should have been wearing.

Emiliano Grillo (Callaway Apparel)
Emiliano Grillo must have a closet full of sweet sweaters. Can’t wait to see what he pulls out tomorrow.

Jamie Donaldson (J.Lindeberg Golf)
Donaldson proves that you don’t have to be Rickie Fowler to rock the orange.

Billy Horschel (RLX Ralph Lauren)
Navy blue and green continues to be the trendy color story of this year’s Masters. Here’s another take on it from Horschel in this puffer jacket.

Ian Poulter (IJP Design)
Poults dropped an 82 on the scorecard, but this well coordinated kit was worthy of a dime.

Henrik Stenson (Hugo Boss)
The keys to pulling off monochromatic looks? The fit and the details. Stenson nailed them both.

Kevin Streelman
I’m not a fan of polos over base layers, but if you are going to do it, the sleeves on your polo need to fit as tight as your compression layer. (See this pic of Rafa Cabrera-Bello.) Also, I know that it is a ‘Golf Compression’ layer. I don’t need to see it on the forearm.

Brandt Snedeker
Twitter follower @crigley2k nominated Brandt Snedeker, and I have to agree. I thought this was a Dime for sure when I saw the scripting, but again, the base layer threw things off. The scripted 1/4-zip grey sweater would have been a much better choice.

Sergio Garcia
Guys are really struggling with monochromatic grey kits this week, and Sergio was the latest. He looked very washed out, and the base layer didn’t help, either. The TOUR360 PRIME BOOST shoes were fresh, but not enough to save this bland setup.
