Who is wearing what at the Open Championship
The Open Championship returns to famed Royal Portrush for the first time since 1951. The tournament also coincides with the arrival of the new Fall/Winter apparel collections from the game’s leading brands. We gave you a preview of several of these collections back in January at the PGA Show. Now, we get to see the top players of the world showcasing the freshest polos, pants, pullovers, sweaters, and jackets for the season. Also, check out Nike’s Reflective Pack of footwear and apparel. The shiny designs were created specifically for the Open Championship.
Listed by world ranking, Brooks Koepka has the honor. Be sure to drop a comment below and let us know which script is your favorite or which brands you are looking to cop this Fall.
Brooks Koepka (Nike)

Another themed apparel and footwear pack from Nike for a major. This time it is the Reflective Pack with a cool futuristic look. Brooks will wear the Vapor Reflective Polo in several colorways and a Reflective version of the Tour Premiere shoe. Unfortunately, the footwear pack is not available in the U.S. 😭
Dustin Johnson (Adidas Golf)

Gradient stripes and familiar blues in new shades (Tech Ink and Glow Blue) for Fall.

Rory McIlroy (Nike)
Embed from Getty ImagesVarious colorways of the Nike Player Polo over the four days. If Mother Nature gets angry, Rory may give us a preview of the collab between Nike and high-end outerwear brand Stone Island (see above). It is set to hit stores July 25 and will be available in the U.S. 🕺
Tiger Woods (Nike)

Red mock neck polo makes a return for the final round. 🙄
Bryson DeChambeau (Puma Golf)

Classic looks early in the week. Modern looks for the weekend, including a tonal camo in a great Rhubarb hue on Sunday.
Favorite look: Sunday
Justin Thomas (Ralph Lauren)

Preppy brights grounded in neutrals, navy, and white. Stripes and solids paired with technical layers. And how about those Tartans on Sunday?!
Favorite look: Sunday
Xander Schauffele (Adidas Golf)

Steely blues complement the water and rocky coastline of the Atlantic Ocean. Hi-Res Coral adds a bit of spice.
Favorite look: Thursday
Gary Woodland (Puma Golf)

Subtle textures throughout with basic looks on Thursday and Friday and more modern and sporty looks to close out the week.
Favorite look: Friday
Rickie Fowler (Puma Golf)

Rickie and Puma celebrate 10 years of shaking up the golf fashion world by debuting the X Collection. Refined looks, sophisticated houndstooth patterns, and elevated fabrics showcase how Rickie’s style has matured over the years.
Jason Day (Nike)

There will be no place for Jason Day to hide at Royal Portrush. The loud Toile pattern polo was inspired by the Legend of the Giant’s Causeway, a geological phenomenon near the coastal course in Northern Ireland. J-Day will lace up the Reflective Air Max 1 G in two different and stunning colorways with ‘Royal’ printed on the soles. These shoes will be the talk of the tournament. Again, they won’t be available in the U.S., which makes us very unhappy. 🤬
Louis Oosthuizen (Peter Millar)

Navy blue and forest green is a winning combination for Fall. Hi-tech fleece jackets and vests are sophisticated and sporty.
Favorite look: Saturday
Sergio Garcia (Adidas Golf)

High-octane colors combined with bold stripes and color blocking. Sure beats the canary yellow getup from back in the day.
Favorite look: Sunday
Jordan Spieth (Under Armour)

Details on the special edition Spieth 3 shoe are inspired by Royal Portrush. The navy colorway has pops of gold and maroon, a subtle nod to the Royal club logo. The collar lining mimics the iconic carpet pattern seen throughout the clubhouse.
Favorite look: Saturday
Billy Horschel (Ralph Lauren)

Pastel palette of soft pink, blue, purple, and green is complemented by navy and creates an easy transition from Summer to Fall. Classic stripes offer a vintage vibe while tech fabrics and Friday’s cashmere hoodie are distinctly modern.
Favorite look: Saturday
Cameron Smith (Original Penguin)

Modern takes on old-school designs from the ’50s with traditional Glen Plaids and fun prints. Track jacket is on-trend.
Favorite look: Sunday
Brandt Snedeker (Peter Millar)

Brilliant layering combos will make Sneds the best dressed of the Peter Millar crew. Friday’s quilted vest is a must-have for fall.
Favorite look: Friday
Si Woo Kim (Peter Millar)

Serious style flex with these layering options. Saturday’s Crown Crafted Storm Jacket is lined with a soft brushed fleece. The outer shell is wind- and water-resistant.
Favorite look: Friday
Branden Grace (Peter Millar)

Royal purple adds a pop of color to the neutral palette. Thursday’s fleece vest can easily find a home on or off the course.
Favorite look: Thursday
Erik van Rooyen (Greyson Clothiers)

Color palette was built with Royal Portrush in mind as it serves as a perfect backdrop for pinks, purples, blues, and reds. It also showcases new colors for the Montauk Jogger (Bonac and Sage). Sunday’s Rumson Jogger features a tuxedo stripe for a more formal look. Greyson has some of the best prints and patterns in the game. Look for EVR to debut new sweaters, too. Easy to see why the brand’s A/W’19 Collection was our favorite at the PGA Show.
Favorite look: Friday
Ryan Fox (Peter Millar)

Cool greys and black create sleek and stealthy looks.
Favorite look: Saturday
Patton Kizzire (Peter Millar)

Navy blue continues to be the ‘it’ color of 2019. The soft reds add a touch of energy. Crown Crafted Stealth Hybrid Vest brings the best of both worlds with interior body warming panels and windproof and water-resistant shell.
Favorite look: Saturday
Stewart Cink (Ben Hogan Apparel)

Dad style done right. Trim 5-pocket pants. Classic polos with subtle patterns and prints.
Favorite look: Thursday
My top three: Erik van Rooyen (Greyson), JT (Ralph Lauren) and Jordan Spieth (UA).
