This Week In Golf Fashion: Rocket Mortgage Classic

Admittedly, I knew nothing about Nate Lashley prior to the Rocket Mortgage Classic, but like any golf fan (or human) I found myself pulling for him to come out on top.  What a heart-wrenching story. Such perseverance. Kuddos, Nate!

If you are interested in upping your belt game this summer, look to our friends at Peter Millar. Brandt Snedeker’s belts on Friday and Sunday polished off a classic, crisp, and clean look that I thought was among the best I saw at the Detroit Golf Club.

Much like runway models, tall and thin tends to be the most eye catching when it comes to golf fashion. Cameron Tringale is 6’2″ and is an exceptional canvas for Greyson’s art.

I will let you guess which camo themed kit I endorse and which one I don’t….

The Memphis Print Golf Polo is fun. And on sale! That means we could have a new lineup coming out soon from Original Penguin. Stay tuned for an upcoming OP feature later in the summer.

Since I am teasing upcoming projects….next week I will be posting an article on floral inspired golf polos. I don’t want to ruin any surprises but it doesn’t take a private eye to see the Hawaiian-inspired style of the MAGNUM polo.

Jason Dufner continues to mix up his lids. This might require me to update the Chronicles of Duf-Nernia.

I have found myself partial to stripes lately and the johnnie-O Levi Striped Prep-Formance Pique Polo caught my eye on Saturday as a “must-have” shirt for my collection of golf polos. (Sheepishly, I must admit that I am amassing golf shirts that would rival Imelda Marcos shoes).

Speaking of shoes, I recently had an opportunity to wear the new FootJoy Fury and they are the most comfortable FootJoy shoes I have worn yet (that says a lot). I really like the Charcoal colorway the Nate wore on Sunday. Looked sharp.

  1. I think some guys on tour are growing out their hair for a charity thing? Rickie, duff, etc. Otherwise, the hair looks terrible but if for charity, it all makes sense.
