A veteran of golf fashion, Adrienne Cass launched the U.S. operation of TRENDYGOLF in 2009, as a one-stop destination for stylish golfers. Adrienne curates a selection from the top fashion-forward brands in the industry, making it easy for golfers with discerning tastes to find apparel that suits their personal style.
Now, she’s helping GolfThreads’ readers with a few last-minute gift ideas personally selected by her. Not surprisingly, most of Adrienne’s picks are on my Christmas list or in my closet already. Enjoy, and get shopping! There are only a few days left.
Brian Windstopper from Galvin Green
Galvin Green is synonymous with premium Gore-Tex rain gear. A leader in the category, many golfers make an investment in a rainsuit from the brand for that bucket-list trip to Bandon Dunes or Scotland. But after it’s over, the jacket doesn’t get as much use. That is why I love their windstopper line. The Brian windstopper offers water repellency during a light shower or intermittent drizzle, but it keeps golfers warm and cuts wind in a soft quiet way. A real indulgence isn’t just having the Galvin Green rainsuit, it’s ALSO having the go-to windstopper jacket. We would normally suggest a half zip on Gore-Tex, but I like the full zip on the Brian because it is that kind of jacket you can find more opportunities to wear off course, and in situations where you don’t want to pull your jacket over your head.
Vests are a three-season wardrobe essential and can be used as outerwear or layering pieces. The Sioux Vest from Greyson is a gem for many reasons that both a golfer and non-golfer can appreciate. Not only is the quilting down filled, but the nylon shell is water and wind resistant. Performance-wise, it is going to keep you warm and dry while optimizing freedom of movement. From a fashion standpoint, I love the diamond and channel quilted patterning. The contrasts are interesting and support both a sporty and sophisticated look. A hidden chest pocket at the right side stows your essentials. Secret bonus? The jersey lining. It’s so cozy and warm. So if you wear this off course, you won’t feel like you are wearing a sleeping bag. It’s not bulky, it’s not loud, you’ll feel like are getting a hug!
GolfThreads nailed it when they said Henrik Stenson was one of the top dressers of the year. Close behind is fellow Boss staffer Martin Kaymer. Part of his MK collection, the Paddy MK 2 polo screams technical perfection without the overly-technical appearance or feel. Loving the black tonal camouflage pattern, and the blue tipping is a fresh contrast. A modern fit polo that should be worn in true Martin Kaymer style.
AG Green Label Graduate Trouser
The Graduate Trouser from AG Green Label has probably been on your fashionable golfer’s wishlist before, but in the form of jeans. The same fit as the Adriano Goldschmied jean that’s a number-one seller at department stores, is now available in a very playable cotton-stretch chino fabric. Perfect on or off the course, he will be sure to get plenty of wear out of these. And whether the color is bold or a wardrobe warrior basic, he won’t care. He will love these pants.
