The calendar has barely flipped over to 2016 and the first pieces of J.Lindeberg’s SS’16 Collection are already hitting e-commerce sites like Trendygolf and Fairway Styles. I was lucky enough to get a preview of this collection at the PGA Fashion Show last August, and from top to bottom it is the real deal. It is filled with well-tailored pieces that possess clean lines, classic styles, modern fits, cutting edge fabrics, and subtle textures.
If you are looking to get a jump on your spring wardrobe, here are a few picks to get you started. A word of caution, though – pace yourself. This is just the beginning. There is more goodness on the way from JL this season.
Egon Print Lux Jersey

J.Lindeberg has had the Egon in its lineup for several seasons, each time with a new and interesting print. For SS’16, JL has given the Egon a bit of a funky vibe with this trippy tonal cell print. You’ll see a lot of prints on the fairways this spring, but you’ll be hard pressed to find one as fresh as this one. Plus, the fact that it is 100% cotton makes it perfect for the cooler temps in the winter and early spring, and it also transitions effortlessly to off course settings.
Liam TX Jersey

This shirt created some serious buzz at the PGA Fashion Show. Buyers and other media members were calling it one of the best polos at the show and I’m right there with them. Many brands are doing all-over prints this spring, but none are as unique, or as well branded, as this one. Over the history of the brand, JL has had a knack for using its iconic ‘JL’ bridge logo as a design element, and they’ve done it again with the micro print on the Liam. Throw in a straight cutline at the front, jacquard collar and cuffed sleeves, and this is a modern classic. Plus, the white color and TX technical fabric will carry you from early spring through the doggiest of the dog days of summer.
William TX Jersey

The Ruy was one of my favorite polos last fall, and the William possesses many of the same qualities. It is the perfect blend of classic good looks and contemporary details. One look at the front of this polo and it has all the makings of a classic golf shirt. The tailored fit, lightweight performance fabric and embossed ‘J.Lindeberg’ script down the spine is distinctly modern. Not to mention, this dusty light blue is a terrific color for spring. Pair this with one of JL’s red technical trousers and a tonal belt, and you’ll have a sweet look for spring.
Michael Scale TX Jersey

If there is a recurring theme in JL’s SS’16 Collection, it is subtle textures. There is no better example of this than the Michael polo. At a distance, this may look like your classic solid polo, but on closer inspection there is something ‘fishy’ about it – SCALES! The all over tone-on-tone embossed scale print possesses a must-touch texture. This is one of the more fun and interesting polos you’ll see this spring.
Wind Vest Pro in Black Camo

This is another piece that has been in J.Lindeberg’s collections for several seasons, and it has become a showcase layering piece for the label. Everything about this vest screams modern technology – from the water and wind resistant shell to the metallic zippers and super clean fit. For SS’16, JL has kicked it up a notch with this black camo pattern, which is daring, yet sophisticated. The bright cobalt blue accents elevate the entire look of this vest. Layer this over a black merino sweater for extra warmth on those cold days, or over a black polo on a cool spring morning.
