There is something about the Barclays and monochromatic looks. At last year’s tournament, monochromatic kits returned to the fairways in a big way, and we’ve already seen Henrik Stenson, Justin Rose, Jason Day, Scott Piercy, Phil Mickelson and Ryan Palmer rockin’ black-on-black and navy-on-navy outfits at this year’s tourney.

I hate to use the term ‘intimidating’ when talking about anything golf related, but there is a real strength and masculinity that these kits bring to the course. I also like that the simplicity of these looks allows players to put their own unique spin on them, whether it be modern, athletic, classic, luxurious or trendy.

For best results, stick with dark colors like black, grey and navy blue, and make sure the tailoring of your shirt and pants is on point. The fit can make or break a monochromatic look.
