Rory McIlroy will sport a fuchsia and grey color palette at Whistling Straits for the PGA Championship.
Based on comments from GolfThreads’ followers in social media, most of you aren’t feeling the fuchsia, but I’m reserving judgement until I see how it plays out. It is good to see Rory rockin’ a bit of color, though. He has never been one to shy away from brights, and he wears them very well. I’m just not sure how well the fuchsia will come across on the screen or how well it will work with the grey.

The best part of Rory’s script, though, is the custom Lunar Control 3 shoe with a safari print and gold swoosh. Rory has been wearing a variety of custom kicks throughout the year, and the gold swoosh on this shoe is a perfect fit for the defending champion and number one player in the world.
One thing is for sure, Nike needs to make a strong sartorial statement at the PGA Championship. Jordan Spieth (Under Armour), Jason Day and Dustin Johnson (Adidas Golf) have been dominating leaderboards in major championships this year. Plus, the neon volt color theme was overly jarring at the Masters and the orange was a bit odd at the Open Championship. The blue and green palette was on point at the U.S. Open, but it got lost in the crowd without any Nike players in contention, until a late run on Sunday by Rory.
