Billy Horschel’s Fishy PGA Championship Apparel Script

Billy Horschel’s script from Ralph Lauren for the PGA Championship is a bit fishy, and it has everything to do with his pants for the final round.

This micro-fish print is the latest in a long line of crazy patterns that Horschel has sported on his trousers over the last couple of years. Frankly, these look more like sharks than fish to me, but that’s splitting hairs (or scales). Sharks might be a better story come Sunday afternoon, if Horschel smells blood on the leaderboard. GolfThreads got a preview of these at the PGA Merchandise Show in January, and they had Horschel’s name written all over them — figuratively speaking, but I wouldn’t put it past Ralph Lauren to create a print with Horschel’s name.

While the micro-fish print will get a lot of attention for its wackiness, the rest of BillyHo’s script is no joke. Color always has a greater impact when worn below the waist and that is precisely the effect that the bright red and lime green pants have on Friday and Saturday respectively. Thursday’s shirt seems to have a lot of personality, too. I’m anxious to see how well it translates on the screen.

This is definitely a script that I would rock at my club championship.
