The first round of the Masters brought a mix of good and bad style to Augusta National. Who wore it well? Who needs a mulligan?
Here is GolfThreads’ Style Birdies & Bogeys from round one.
Gary Player (Black Knight International) – Classic Gary Player here and a stylish way to start the tournament. This timeless look never gets old. Love the wingtips.Embed from Getty Images
Graham DeLaet (Puma Golf) – A crisp and clean look for spring with an appropriate use of color. I want to go out and buy this shirt.Embed from Getty Images
Luke Donald (RLX) – The grey shirt/white pants combo offered an understated and modern look. Donald was well tailored, as always.Embed from Getty Images
Billy Horschel (RLX) – Horschel’s poppy colored pants were poppin’. How about the creativity of pairing a purple striped shirt with these pants? Well done.Embed from Getty Images
Jimmy Walker (Iliac Golf) – The soft green color of these gingham-checked pants was smooth and easy on the eyes. The matching gingham belt and collar completed the look.Embed from Getty Images
Keegan Bradley – If Jordan is going to make custom kicks for you, you would think they would at least match your shirt. The acid green color on those shoes is rough.Embed from Getty Images

Matt Kuchar – By all accounts, Kuch is one of the nicest guys on Tour. He is also my pick for slipping on the green jacket this week. It pains me to put him on this list, but those pleated, wide-leg pants with cuffs are straight out of Banana Republic circa 1996.Embed from Getty Images
Lee Westwood – Did Westy have an accident at a highlighter factory? The Druh belt looks great, but unfortunately you can’t see it after being blinded by the neon shirt. Save yourself! Look away while you still have retinas.Embed from Getty Images
Boo Weekley – Apparently Boo Weekley’s first round tee time interrupted a hunting trip. If you are going to wear camo on the course, wear RLX.Embed from Getty Images
Y.E. Yang – Yikes, Y.E.! You should have worn a green hat to complete the tomato look.Embed from Getty Images
