Masters Fashion Dimes & Crimes: Day 1

JT’s sweater polo, Koepka’s closet caper at casa de Kelce, Min Woo relaxes the fit, J-Day dials it back to dial it in, and more. Michael breaks down the best and worst looks from Day 1 at Augusta.

Fashion Dimes

Justin Thomas (Greyson Clothiers & FootJoy)

The Greyson Saratoga Short Sleeve Sweater Polo caught my eye immediately. It paired beautifully with the Wolf Blue Montauk Trousers. I am glad JT stepped out of the FJ HyperFlex and back into the Premiere Series Wilcox. These work much better with his style.

Nike paying tribute to Seve’s Double Swoosh Visor at the 1986 Masters was what we all were waiting for. Scottie rocked the stacked Nike Futura logos on his Par Polo and the special edition colorway of his Victory Pro 4 shoes. Brillante!

The Springer Shirt by H&B pops against these navy trousers. It is classic, timeless beauty at its best. When in doubt, K.I.S.S.

Viktor Hovland (J.Lindeberg & Nike Golf)

Viktor’s game did not stand out but the JL Bridger Tour Print Polo certainly did against the backdrop of Augusta National Golf Club. The digital floral design is a statement piece.

Gary Woodland (PUMA Golf)

Sometimes it is all about the flow, yo! The bold green PUMA Golf 30904 Golf Polo could’ve been too much against the white trousers but the white piping on the collar and green accents on the Ignite Elevate 2 golf shoes made this outfit an absolute Dime. Look closely at the subtle inlay floral pattern on this shirt.

Min Woo Lee (Lululemon & PAYNTR)

We are seeing more and more prints and patterns from Lululemon and I love it! And the Lululemon Water-Repellent Relaxed-Fit Golf Pant? These are as close to perfect as you can get for the course.

Jason Day (Malbon & PAYNTR)

Speaking of relaxed fit…I know this is a polarizing one for some, but not me. Jason Day looks great.

 Kristoffer Reitan (Original Penguin)

Looking for some layering inspiration? Follow Kristoffer’s lead and grab a track jacket for a super cool vintage vibe.

Brooks Koepka (Nike Golf)

Does anyone else feel like Brooks rummaged through Tiger Woods’ and Travis Kelce’s closets to put together this outfit? Regardless, Brooks pulled it off. And he might be the only guy other than Woods/Kelce who could.

Fashion Nickel

Jake Knapp (johnnie-O)

I love Jake Knapp as a johnnie-O ambassador. J-O is my go-to brand, but I have got to call a brother out; Jake, this sweater looks too big! However, once the sweater went in the bag…

Now. We. Are. Talking. Shout out to the Mighty Ducks for replacing the signature hockey sticks on their logo with golf clubs for Knapp’s scripting this week.

Fashion Crimes

Robert MacIntyre

I actually feel bad for Robert. I’m starting to think that they are purposefully messing with him. This shirt looks like the sheets on my son’s bed.

Brandon Holtz

Hate to pick on the amateur but this is bad….

Tommy Fleetwood

I am down with relaxed-fit pants but at least get them hemmed, mate!

  1. Tommy Fleetwood is an example of why the Marine Corps does not let you put anything in your trouser pockets. Took my husband decades to get over that idea.

  2. Tommys trousers look terrible as does Bobby Mac as usual. Justin now looks like Justin back in the classic fj’s. Sorry but I can’t get into J Days malbon schtick.
