johnnie-O: Fresh Fall Fashion

Autumn in New England means it is time to change over my clothes. The other day I started to put away my warm-weather golf shorts and polos and warm up to the idea of sweaters and flannel. In doing so, I came to the realization that I need a fall fashion refresh. Like, a serious refresh…from work to workouts and everything in between.

Inspiration came in the form of the latest johnnie-O catalog. They’ve got me covered from head to toe, for wherever I go, yo! Here are a few of my seasonal sartorial favorites.

Shackets

I looooove me a shacket! They are the ideal casual layering piece for any outdoor activity when the temperature starts to drop. The Keegan Flannel Shacket is rugged and warm, and the side pockets are a nice touch. Bonus points that the color matches my son’s high school football team! Undoubtedly, I will be wearing this as I cheer on the Plymouth North Eagles!

If the Keegan Flannel is an entry-level Shacket, the Demarco Stretch Flannel Lodge Shirt is your performance model. Holy smokes! This is the ultimate luxury item for the guy who wants to elevate their style with the softest, smoothest, stretchiest shacket on the planet.

Performance Athleisure

If there is any part of my closet that needs a makeover it is my athleisure-wear. It is baaaad. We live in a society where comfortable athletic clothing is acceptable to wear almost anywhere. However, that doesn’t mean we all look good in our “sweats”. Weekend or workout, the sleek design of the Altos Performance Jogger is ready to be your ideal running mate and have you looking less “dad” and more “damn”!

Curious about what to pair with the Altos Joggers? Consider the Avry Camo Full Zip Hoodie. Yes, we all thought that camo patterns were a fad. We were all wrong. This jacket is bold and versatile enough to wear with joggers, dungarees, or a pair of shorts. (Just make sure you wear a plain shirt underneath).

I always get excited for the start of the NHL season, and I was equally pumped to see that johnnie-O is now offering NHL-licensed apparel. This Boston Bruins Vaughn Striped Performance 1/4 Zip is the perfect game-day companion when the puck drops.

Trousers

Corduroys and a flannel shirt; nothing, and I mean nothing embraces the season aflush with falling leaves more than this combination. The Cardif Corduroy Pant with a hint of stretch offers a modern take on the traditional trouser. Pair these pants with the Lyon Top Shelf Button Up Shirt and you’ve got an outfit ready to confidently take on New England’s leaf-peeping season.

The Chocolate colorway of the Hugo 5-Pocket Pant is where it is at! They are a classy alternative to your outdated (and uncomfortable) jeans. Oh, and do yourself a favor and swap out that quarter-zip for a crewneck sweater for a more refined kit.

Friday Fun

Finally, I am going to have some “Friday Fun” in something funky and fresh. It is always good to get out of your comfort zone and pick up an item outside of your norm. The Hawking Striped Henley Pullover has an unmistakable SoCal vibe that I can easily picture myself wearing to a brewery with friends or apple picking with the family.
