FASHION DIMES
Danny Willett (Descente)
This is my fifth year contributing to Masters Fashion Dimes & Crimes and I have included Danny Willett as a “Dime” every year. Admittedly, a zipper-placket isn’t for everyone, but Danny makes it work. Despite the trend towards longer and bigger sleeves, this is still my preferred fit.
Cameron Smith (Original Penguin & FootJoy)
The soft filtered tie dye print on this polo was far-out, man. And the color-blocked sweater was the perfect complementary layering piece! I got a kick out of the juxtaposition of Cam’s “Joe-Dirt” haircut and inner-hippie polo.
Abraham Ancer (Black Quail & FootJoy)
Abraham Ancer takes a classic striped polo (with modern accents) and pairs it with these arctic blue trousers for an elevated, Dime-worthy look.
Collin Morikawa, Dustin Johnson & Joaquin Niemann (adidas Golf)
The cooler temperatures in Augusta gave us a peek at a plethora of outerwear options. Adidas showed the breadth of their layering pieces and all were on point. My favorite of the three? Morikawa’s crewneck; especially given that he wore it with the collar tucked in. (Lee Westwood made me irrationally angry with his collar sticking out on Friday).
Kevin Na (WAAC & G/FORE)
Anyone who wears a cardigan gets a shout-out! Give me more cardigans and argyle, please! This is a late “hot-stove” update but Na has been wearing G/FORE footwear this season; an underrated and brilliant off-season move by G/FORE given how much attention Na’s feet get when he “walks in a putt.”
Justin Thomas (Greyson Clothiers & FootJoy)
The floral print Blossom Polo from Greyson Clothiers was my favorite Friday polo. It is one of those shirts that draws people in to take a closer look.
Erik van Rooyen (Greyson Clothiers & ECCO)
You don’t need to get up-close-and-personal with EVR to appreciate the floral print on his polo. This is much more in-your-face than JT’s top, but the navy joggers toned it down a bit. In a very unassuming, way I felt that van Rooyen’s shirt drew attention to the detail in his signature shoe, the ECCO Biom H4. Well played, Erik.
Sam Burns (TravisMathew & Cuater)
Let’s face it, a plain white polo can be a boring but essential item. Add a subtle tropical print to the chest pocket and inner collar and voila; no longer boring! Pair it with the TravisMathew Right On Time trousers and an exotic skin belt; GolfThreads Dime!
Will Zalatoris (FootJoy)
FootJoy has been dominating the golf footwear talk and deservedly so. The tortoiseshell design on the Packard Series is otherworldly. And a shout out to Will Zalatoris who is quickly becoming the face of FJ for both his game and style!
FASHION CRIMES
Jason Kokrak
First of all, I think Jason deserved a Dime for his William Murray Golf Remastered Polo on Thursday. However, this?! All I could think of when I saw Kokrak’s kit Friday was…..

Rory McIlroy
With all of the Nike options Rory had to keep warm, he chose to dress like a middle schooler waiting for the school bus? (Insert Scottie Scheffler’s navy Nike TW pullover here to turn this from a Crime to a Dime).
Bryson DeChambeau
Never try to match your caddie’s attire at The Masters….
Tommy Fleetwood
….or do the complete opposite.
Any info on Willett’s shoes? Are those Nike Dunks? Are they custom? Those are clean.
Sorry for the delayed response…..I somehow missed this comment. Willett is wearing Jordan 1 Retro Low Golf. Looks to be the Triple White version with a custom black swoosh.
Kokrak was atrocious but Tony Finau is working hard at 4 days of terrible shirts. Cam woulda looked better in his kit on a bright warm sunny day. The weather impacts how the kit looks.
I have to assume that you guys are leaving Finau out of the daily reports so that you can name him overall crime champion for the tournament?
Could Zalatoris go up half a size on his pants? They just seem a little too tight to me (front pockets bulging out)
