This Week In Golf Fashion: Farmers Insurance Open

Day makes me drop Dickens quotes, Danny’s frugal fit, the mystery of Suber’s super skull belt is solved, Schenk’s sartorial sandwich, and more as we cover all the totally terrific topics from Torrey Pines.

It was the best of times…

…it was the worst of times. The former is an early contender for best outfit of the year. The latter? Not so much.

Jackson Suber (johnnie-O & FootJoy)

As promised, I got to the bottom of Suber’s skull & crossbones belt. After some digging, I came across an interview he did with The Back of the Range podcast where he talks about his belt. It is from the Gasparilla Invitational, an Elite Mid-Amateur Golf Tournament at the Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club in Tampa, FL. According to the interview, Jackson wears this belt “every day.” If anyone has a hookup at the Pro Shop, drop me a line. I would like to order one.

Shoutout to Instagram followers @brandelman and @curtishall_03 for also solving Suber’s belt mystery and hitting us up with additional facts. Both mentioned that Palma Ceia is Jackson’s home club and @brandelman added that his Suber’s dad runs the Gasparilla Invitational.

Here is what I know about Charles Reiter…he always seems to be wearing cool hats. Any readers have a tip on this lid?

Adam Schenk (FootJoy & True Linkswear & FootJoy)

Brilliant move by Adam Schenk to sandwich those True All Day Chinos with this beautiful FootJoy Half-Zip Sweater and the super stable FJ Tour Alpha. Would you call this a FootJoy sandwich or a True sandwich??

Danny Willett (Puma Golf)

To my knowledge, Danny Willett only has an official deal with Cobra Puma Golf for clubs and footwear. He’s been wearing their apparel exclusively in 2025. For the most part, he’s opted for the Puma Pure 2.0 Polo ($55) and Dealer Tailored Golf Pant ($90) for a very affordable, functional, and handsome fit. You don’t need to spend a lot of money to look good.

Now that is how you wear the Beaumont Performance Crewneck over a polo. Collar tucked in is a much cleaner and classier look.

I really dig the pop of color on the inside of the collar and placket of this Primo Golf Microfloral Blade Polo.

Luke List (Boen & G/FORE)

Luke List looks like a million bucks. This is a much better style for him. The past few years I thought that he had too much going on with some of the Greyson prints and the emphatic three stripes of his adidas golf shoes. The quietly refined Boen paired with the super clean G/FORE GALLIVAN2R is the perfect match for him.

What a great color combination for this time of year. Cool and warming at the same time.
