This Week In Golf Fashion: American (Express) Hero (Classic)

Nico is no bueno in Nike, Day’s evolution, how Descente did Xander dirty, the case of the mysterious skull belt, Rahm’s finicky feet, and more, as we cover 8,341 miles to bring you all the news from La Quinta to Dubai in this Greatest American Hero edition of TWIGF.

The American Express

I sent a text to Greg over the weekend and commented on how dialed-in Jason Day looked at The American Express. His response was spot on, “Day always looks better when he takes an evolution instead of revolution approach.”

Keith Mitchell (Sid Mashburn & FootJoy)

Not sure if Keith designed these FootJoy Packards himself with the MyJoys option or if they are a new colorway for 2025. Regardless, they are amazing. Cashmere Keith continues to raise the bar when it comes to golf fashion.

Billy Horschel (Ralph Lauren & FootJoy)

As far as I am concerned, the only other professional golfer who might trump Keith Mitchell for the title of best dressed is Billy Horschel. If Billy is pulling these green slacks out at La Quinta, I can only imagine what he has in store for us at Augusta. I can guarantee both of these cats will be in the Dimes section when we do our daily coverage of The Masters.

Give me more Chervo on Tour, please! I just love their stuff. This particular version of the FootJoy Premiere Series seems to be a new release for 2025. I have seen multiple FJ ambassadors rocking this iteration over the past few weeks.

Nico in Nike? No bueno. I always thought he had the potential to be one of the best-dressed guys on Tour. This will bring him down a notch. FootJoy shoes were a much better fit for his style.

Jackson Suber (johnnie-O & FootJoy)

I am usually pretty good at identifying belts. Especially belts that have skulls on them. Jackson Suber has me stumped but I am not giving up. I will be back with an answer for you. Promise.

I spy a new release from our friends at True Linkswear and they look ridiculously comfortable!

Will Zalatoris (FootJoy)

I’m digging this FJ Speckle Lisle polo. Will Zalatoris doesn’t get enough credit for his style. I’ve always thought he had an unassumingly cool vibe, but let’s face it, when you flex in your FJ x Buscemi Premiere Series Field golf shoes, you are no longer “unassuming”!

Hero Dubai Desert Classic

Jon Rahm (Greyson Clothiers)

From what we are hearing Greyson will be outfitting some teams on LIV. Among them are Cam Smith’s Ripper GC and Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII. Rahm wore Cuater golf shoes by TravisMathew in Dubai, but I will be curious to see if that continues. I know he is slow to change footwear because he needs to have each pair of shoes custom-made for his finicky feet.

Thorbjorn Olesen (Greyson Clothiers & Ecco)

I had to look really close to determine what shoes Thorbjorn was wearing. They are Ecco and they are exceptional.

Matt Wallace (J.Lindeberg & FootJoy)

There is just something about the JL “bridge” that gets me nostalgic about golf fashion yesteryear.

Francesco Laporta (Chervo & FootJoy)

A double dose of Chervo in this edition of TWIGF? You’re welcome!

Haotong Li (Descente & FootJoy)

I miss seeing Haotong Li and all his cool Descente gear. Who would’ve guessed that Descente would send all their good stuff to him and stiff poor Xander Schauffele. Descente did Xander dirty.
