Date Night at the Theater with Johnnie-O

There are some BIG things in store for johnnie-O in 2025 as they celebrate their 20th anniversary (crazy, right?). Although I cannot divulge all the festivities to come, I do highly suggest you sign up for their mailing list so as not to miss out on any of the upcoming limited runs…oops, I think I may have already said too much. Anyhow, I am going to celebrate our friends at johnnie-O by kicking off my first “style” article of 2025 by getting dressed up and bringing you along on my “date night” to the theater.

ACT 1

By now you’ve realized that johnnie-O is my go-to brand for everyday wear. When I received an email promoting the addition of sport coats to their Top Shelf Collection, well, let’s just say it was love at first sight. Then, when I read that these blazers are made with a luxurious blend of wool, silk, linen, and cashmere, things got real, yo! My wheels started spinning knowing that I had a very special date night coming up to see the musical, Dear Evan Hansen with my new lady-friend, Jill. Let’s face it, as ZZ Top taught me a long time ago, every girl is crazy for a sharp-dressed man! And what woman doesn’t love receiving clothes?!

ACT 2

So, I dialed up johnnie-O on the World Wide Web; navigated to their Women’s Collection, and added a Cashmere Blend Crewneck Sweater in navy and a versatile vanilla-colored silky slip skirt to my cart for Jill.

Now, it is my turn! I opted for the Giovanni Top Shelf Wool Cashmere Sport Coat in Charcoal (this has since sold out completely) and wore it over the Raynor Merino 1/4 Zip Sweater (Walnut) and the Judes Top Shelf Button Up Shirt (Coffee). The nice thing about j-O is that they have me covered head-to-toe, so there was no need to stop at the top. I completed my ‘fit with the London Brushed Twill Flannel Pant (Khaki), Tessuto Stretch Leather Belt, and a pair of their leather Santa Monica Loafers.

ACT 3

Once our “his & her” johnnie-O date night outfits arrived, I presented Jill with her attire for the evening, and off we went to the theater. Dear Evan Hansen was amazingly powerful! The New York Times called it “a breathtaking knockout of a musical.” Ironically, I told Jill the exact same thing about her that night (except I substituted “musical” with “woman”). Not to be outdone, she quipped, “you look hot as blazes in your blazer.” I’d say things went well. Thanks, johnnie-O. Here is to 20 more years of keeping us all styled!
