When he’s not stuck in washed out neutrals, Adam Scott reminds us why he’s still one of the best-dressed golfers out there. Case in point: a mossy green sweater paired with off-white trousers. This is the perfect transitional outfit, blending a touch of summer with the early vibes of fall.

Jason Day (Malbon Golf & Payntr)

The big golf fashion headline of the week—and possibly the year—is still Jason Day’s collaboration with Malbon. Did anyone catch the PGA Tour Originals “The Life: A New Day,” presented by Malbon before the third round on Saturday?

Sure, you can spot a sponsored content piece (err, infomercial) a mile away, but part of me doesn’t mind. The PGA Tour should be doing more to showcase players’ styles and connect with fans through fashion, much like the NBA does with its iconic tunnel walks. And this perspective isn’t just from anyone; it’s coming from someone who spent six years as the Style Insider for the PGA Tour. Let’s get behind the scenes with Keith Mitchell in his Sid Mashburn threads, FootJoy Classics, and vintage visors. Let’s deep dive into Billy Horschel’s Ralph Lauren fall layers or explore how Adam Scott channels Ben Hogan. And let’s see how Greyson scripts fits for JT, EVR, and Sam Ryder at The Players Championship. Why not? Oh yeah—$$$.

But my biggest takeaway? Malbon’s fall jackets are absolute fire.

Last week, I crowned Billy the King of Navy Blue. This week he showed his sartorial range in this black outfit, a color that he rarely wears. The engineered stripes and subtle touches of pale blue and pink exude a ’90s retro vibe. You know I have mixed feelings about the ’90s comeback, but if you’re looking for a brand that nails it, look no further than Ralph Lauren. With a vast archive of killer designs from the era, they’ve got this trend on lock.

In case you missed the countless reminders on the broadcast, this was a home game for Wyndham Clark. He played to the home crowd with a Broncos-themed outfit on Saturday, and looked crisp and clean in a dusty rose hue on Sunday.

Viktor Hovland (J.Lindeberg & Puma Golf)

J.Lindeberg is back in a big way this fall, and I’m here for it. This is one of my top three collections of the season, reminiscent of what made JL a trailblazer in golf fashion 20 years ago. No brand has integrated its logo into designs quite like JL, and the vibrant color-blocked panels that form the iconic Bridge on the shoulders of the Legacy Polo are a prime example. Personally, I would have loved to see Viktor pair this polo with a daring choice of bright blue or pink trousers. The navy was a safe bet—effective, but it lacked that extra punch.

Ludvig Aberg (Adidas Golf)

Forget ’90s retro. Ludvig Aberg and Adidas are offering a modern twist on a timeless look that works in any era. The tipping on the collar matches the rope detail on the hat, while the navy placket and buttons add just the right amount of pop.

Xander Schauffele (Descente & Adidas Golf)

The Xander/Descente partnership hasn’t quite delivered the punch I was hoping for this year, but the green pants he sported this week certainly brought some energy to his wardrobe. After all, when you’re chasing FedEx Cup cash, the color of money is always in style.

Texture is a major trend in golf fashion this year, and the Flight Signature Shirt from Macade Golf stands out with one of the most intriguing textures I’ve seen on a polo. The vented fabric with jacquard stripes gives it a gauzy, lightweight feel. By the way, Macade is one of the most underrated brands in golf apparel. Definitely worth checking out.

Another great way to elevate your look is with a small, intricate pattern.

Derrick White

NBA champ and recent gold medalist Derrick White nailed the perfect summer look for spectating a golf tournament: linen shorts, a simple white short-sleeve button-down, and a green cap.

  1. I never saw Scottie Scheffler look better than he did in the Olympic uniforms. He should ditch that lousy looking Nike stuff and go for brighter, cleaner looks. They also seemed to fit him better. He usually has an old man look going on. The Olympic uniform took years off. I always thought the same about Phil in his Ryder Cup uniforms. He looked way better than in his usual brown pinstripe pants. Glad we don’t have to look at that anymore.
