Jordan’s uncrushable hat, Woodland’s patriotism earns him a fan, Wyndham gets deputized, and more. Michael preps for PGA Championship Dimes & Crimes with a recap of the Wells Fargo Championship.
Jason Day (Malbon & PAYNTR)
The golf fashion story of the year continues to be Jason Day and Malbon. Whether or not these outfits are something you would wear, it is great for the game. I love the passion that people on both sides of the argument have for Day’s duds.
A white belt and “cargo” (?) pants should have me crying foul and warming up some witty verbal repartee in advance of the PGA Championship Dimes & Crimes, but alas, I am all in. Oddly, the utilitarian nature of Day’s trousers appeals to me and the white stitching and white polo allow the belt to blend seamlessly.
Finally, these PAYNTR shoes have a vibe reminiscent of the Jordan “elephant print” and I am digging it, yo!
Keegan Bradley (Flag & Anthem & Jordan Brand)
Speaking of the Jordan elephant print…. check out Keegan’s kicks. And how about this Flag & Anthem MVP Sunnyvale Island Polo? The all-over tropical print looks ready to party!
Sam Burns (TravisMathew)
Interesting…Sam Burns is wearing adidas shoes instead of his typical Cuater by TravisMathew. As you may recall, Sam was an adidas guy before switching to TM in 2022.
Viktor Hovland (J.Lindeberg & PUMA Golf)
Viktor swapped out his customary spiked PUMA Ignite Articulate Golf Shoes (currently on sale for $89!) for the spikeless PUMA AVANT Golf Shoes. I love the style and comfort of these modern wingtips but am a bit surprised that Hovland didn’t stick with something that offers more traction.
Jordan Spieth (Under Armour Golf)
Is Spieth sporting a blade collar?! The real story from the team at Under Armour is the new ultra-light, breathable, and uncrushable UA StealthForm Hat. This seamless hat features an Iso-Chill interior that is cool to the touch and is designed to be the perfect travel hat. Smash it into a ball, toss it in the washing machine, fold it up; whatever you do to it, it’ll snap back into place without wrinkles or creases. I am intrigued!
Gary Woodland (PUMA Golf)
My son is finishing up his junior year of high school. As we’ve discussed college options, he has decided to pursue the Army ROTC Scholarship program. He is one of the most patriotic young men I know, and no surprise Gary Woodland is his favorite golfer for a variety of reasons (is there a more likable man on the PGA Tour?). One of those reasons is that Woodland proudly wears PUMA Volition America. In case you aren’t aware PUMA supports this partnership by donating a portion of their proceeds to the Folds of Honor Foundation which provides educational scholarships to families of our fallen or disabled military heroes and first responders.
Wyndham Clark (Municipal & FootJoy)
Before LIV, I always thought that Dustin Johnson and Henrik Stenson wore monochromatic black outfits the best on the PGA Tour. That title now belongs to Wyndham Clark. I guess you could say there is a new sheriff in town.
Collin Morikawa (adidas Golf)
This is a favorite color combination of mine. Looks so good together, doesn’t it?
Sungjae Im (FootJoy BOA)
Sungjae Im is dialed in and knows what’s up! I had the opportunity to wear-test the FootJoy Pro/SLX Boa recently and honestly, I am surprised they aren’t worn more often on Tour. Here is my $.02
The FootJoy Pro/SLX BOA has a sleek design reminiscent of a fighter jet with almost as much technology built in (the Carbon version may match it). Undoubtedly, the most stable and supportive golf shoe I’ve worn. The style is CLEAN and the comfort is what you’d expect from a modern athletic design. Equipped with the BOA Li2 Fit System for a precision-engineered fit that I was able to adjust on the fly. I’m a big fan of the BOA heel dial (a feature unique to FJ) and combined with FootJoy exposed heel stabilizer my foot felt locked in and ready to take my game to new heights.

Nice warm up for this week. Got to disagree about J Day, I think he looks terrible. Maybe the outfits would look good on a new young star but I can’t get into these threads at all, I’m trying to forget about what I wore in the 90,s and this brings it all back.😂
