Peter Millar is Outfitting (Nearly) Everyone for the U.S. Open

The U.S. Open rolls into Los Angeles Country Club’s North Course this week for the first time, and Peter Millar is outfitting everyone from Cameron Young and elite amateur Ben Carr to USGA staff and volunteers.

When most think about summertime in Los Angeles, the first things that come to mind are sunshine, palm trees, and sandy beaches. However, Californians know about a thing called June Gloom that brings overcast skies, heavy air, and cooler temps as the warm inland air and cool ocean air play an atmospheric tug of war this time of year. While most of the marine layer will burn off well before the time the leaders make their way to the first tee, it gives Peter Millar yet another opportunity to showcase its technical layering pieces consisting of everything from vests and pullovers to hoodies and jackets.

Cameron Young

Cameron’s Thursday look features a custom-designed U.S. Open printed polo that pays tribute to Los Angeles Country Club through a novelty print consisting of palm trees, trophies, flags, golf clubs and balls. He will also be prepared for changing temperatures with the Stealth Performance Pullover and Flex-Adapt Half-Zip Vest, engineered to provide lightweight warmth and exceptional mobility.

Young will once again turn to his go-to pants throughout the tournament. The Blade Trouser, with a slim tapered lower leg, was originally designed as a custom piece for Cam, but it is now available for the rest of us in three different lengths. Ben Carr

Joining Cameron Young at LACC is Ben Carr who recently wrapped up his college career at Georgia Southern and took home the award for the Sun Belt Conference’s Golfer of the Year.

Ben’s Saturday look showcases the quintessential Peter Millar Crown Sport spirit with a blend of time-tested performance styles with a novelty twist. The focal point is the Fish Camo Performance Polo, featuring a custom camo print with hidden deep-sea fish designs. Peter Millar: Official Outfitter of the USGA & U.S. Open

Cameron Young and Ben Carr won’t be the only ones sporting Peter Millar at LACC this week. Back in September of last year, the USGA announced a multi-year partnership with the brand, making it the official outfitter of the USGA and a supporting partner of the U.S. Open. As a result, Peter Millar is outfitting USGA staff and volunteers and is collaborating with the USGA on retail and merchandise offerings. The Peter Millar Collection for the USGA will include a range of apparel and accessories for men and women, including pieces from G/FORE which was acquired by Peter Millar in 2018.

If you are headed to LACC this week, be sure to hit the merch tent. Something tells me you’ll likely find Cam’s polo there. On the other hand, if you have a front-row seat on your couch, you can still find plenty of Peter Millar U.S. Open swag online at the USGA shop.
