I wrote about the launch of J.Lindeberg’s Luxe Collection a few months ago. Since then, I received a few pieces from the collection, so I thought it would be good to revisit it now that I’ve had a chance to wear them. Plus, the Luxe Collection is absolutely perfect for this time of year and the pieces in the collection make great holidays gifts for golfers who care about their appearance on and off the course.

I really like J.Lindeberg Golf’s concept behind the Luxe. It is a capsule collection that is independent of its A/W14 Golf Collection. This gave designers the freedom to go outside the box to create a collection that is really unique to the world of golf apparel. The pieces in the collection are highly influenced by the high fashion side of the house, and the inspiration behind many of the looks has been pulled from the brand’s menswear lines. The result is a collection filled with luxurious fabrics and well-tailored pieces that work as well on urban streets as they do on the course. Slip on an outfit from JL’s Luxe Collection and no one will know you are actually wearing golf clothes. Not to mention, you can seamlessly move from the course to the office to a dinner on the town.
Rake Jacket
From top to bottom, the Luxe Collection is loaded with stylish pieces, but the Rake Jacket is the showcase piece in my opinion. I’ve been staring at this jacket and the thermometer for a couple of months now, just waiting for the temperatures to drop here in Cali. I finally got the chance to wear it out to dinner last week and three people stopped me to ask about it from the time I stepped out of the car until I was seated in the restaurant.
While I see the Rake Jacket as an off-course piece, there are some playability features built into the design that would allow you to take it to the course on a cold day. The shoulder seams are gusseted (shown above) to allow for a full range of motion and two snaps on the tail (shown below) can be undone for increased mobility in the hips. Even if the Rake jacket never hits the fairways, these features only enhance its comfort on the street.
Sizing recommendation: Size up. If you normally wear medium in outerwear, go with a large.
Roberto Polo
The button-down collar is pure class and adds to the sophisticated aesthetic. The sleeves hit at the top part of the biceps, which is a bit shorter than with most polos on the market, but I like having the freedom of movement through the arms and shoulders that the shorter sleeves offer. The Roberto is another versatile piece from J.Lindeberg Golf’s Luxe Collection that can be paired with virtually any style of pants.
Sizing recommendation: Size up. If you normally wear a medium in polos, go with a large.
Loren Crewneck Sweater
As always, the best places to check out the Luxe Collection and J.Lindeberg Golf’s seasonal collection is at Trendygolf or FairwayStyles.
