Golf Threads’ Take on the International Presidents Cup Team Uniforms
In an earlier post, I used one word to describe the U.S. team’s apparel for the upcoming Presidents Cup matches — “predictable.” However, if I was to use a single word to describe the International team’s apparel, it would be “sharp.” I’ll wait to name a best dressed team until we see the finished products outside of promotional sketches and photographs, but this looks like an easy 4&3 sartorial match play win for the International team.

“Peter Millar has supplied us with a range and quality of clothing that is exceptional. Their staff has been so supportive and easy to work with throughout the process of preparing all the clothing for our week at The Presidents Cup.”
— Nick Price, International Team captain and World Golf Hall of Famer
My only real complaint with the International team uniforms is that some of the best looks have been relegated to practice rounds. Monday’s ensemble of steel blue pants, crisp white shirt and grey and blue window-pane checked sweater, along with Tuesday’s green pants, striped polo and cream-colored sweater are particularly sharp and deserve more air time than what they will receive.
Extra credit also goes to Peter Millar for scripting the outfits for the opening and closing ceremonies. While I’m not a big fan of the golf polo under the sport coat for the closing ceremonies, I do like the color of the blazer and the fact that players can choose from two different shirts. The navy suit paired with the light blue dress shirt and striped tie for the opening ceremonies is pure elegance.
This looks like a stylish and functional collection from Peter Millar. Only one question remains. Will it propel the International team to victory?
