Dustin Johnson’s, Sergio Garcia’s Players Championship Apparel Scripts

Many call The Players Championship the fifth major and Adidas Golf is treating it as such. Adidas has scripted Dustin Johnson and 2008 Players Champion Sergio Garcia in the brand’s new ClimaChill polo shirts at TPC Sawgrass.

Johnson will sport the ClimaChill Print Polo with three distinctive stripes across the chest. He will pair it with Adidas’ 3-Stripe pants on Thursday and Friday and Heathered pants on Saturday and Sunday. He will complete the look each day with pure360 footwear.

Garcia will don the ClimaChill Chest Print Polo and pair it with the 3-Stripe pants and Adizero One shoes over the four days. The Spaniard’s Sunday shirt features a pink stripe in honor of Mother’s Day.

The most interesting look is Johnson’s second round look — a monochromatic solar blue ensemble. And by interesting, I mean the most potential for failure. I like the bright blue pants, but by pairing them with the same color shirt, Johnson may look like Golfing Smurf. We’ve seen a lot of monochromatic looks from DJ this year, and he’s usually pulled them off, so I’ll reserve judgement until I see it on Friday.
